Job Description:

You will be the Financial Business Partner for several Expertise Centers in the R&D organization and monitor the financial health and efficiency of our operations.

What you will do

As Senior Business Controller, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of our operations. With your expertise in both business and financial processes, you will act as a bridge between the R&D units and the corporate organization. You will report directly to the Group Controller.

You will:
  • Prepare and closely monitor budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyse financial data to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
  • Make relevant and accurate analyses and formulate proposals for efficient cost control.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to ensure the efficient use of project resources.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization while maintaining our commitment to high quality research.
  • Prepare and present management dashboards to support and guide business unit managers.
  • Provide financial advice to line management in making tactical and strategic decisions.
  • Create business models and business cases and provide input for cost rate and margin calculations.
  • Actively contribute to projects on financial systems and improvement processes (ERP, …).

Who you are
  • You hold a Master’s degree in an economic field.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in Business Controlling (or equivalent relevant experience). Experience in a service or project organization and/or in an international context is a plus.
  • You succeed in presenting complex financial figures concisely and you know how to convince based on facts and analysis.
  • With your interpersonal skills you are a business partner who creates impact and dares to challenge results. You mainly have contacts with business unit and department heads.
  • You are fascinated by a rapidly changing business environment and have a healthy curiosity to better understand products and production processes.
  • You have impeccable Excel skills and manage to translate numbers into meaningful insights.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English (and Dutch).
