A new exciting opportunity as Senior Business & Financial Controller is available in an international logistics company based in Diegem. You will act as a strategic business partner to other business units, translating the financials into real growth measures.
What you can expect as a Senior Business & Financial Controller:
- Perform month-end closing activities according to month-end schedule
- Analysis of month-end results and management reporting
- Preparation and submission of monthly financial reports for Management
- Guide business managers to better interpret financial information and draw conclusions
- Ensure that all financial data is in compliance with corporate accounting policies and IFRS
- Participate in system/process improvement and standardization initiatives
- Participate in review and improvement in existing processes
- Participate day-to-day finance controlling operations
- Investigation of queries and abnormalities
- Control Entities / Cost Center structure / Approval Matrixes
- Co-ordinate forecasting and planning processes
- Support business owners in preparation and analysis of business cases
- Preparation of system/interface reconciliations in terms of all possible categories (accounts/cost centers)
- Preparation/processing of judgmental accruals and provisions
- Financial transparency in line with IFRS and internal policy
- Support Finance Manager in the different audits
- Ensure positive relationship with the business partners
- Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships internal managers
- Understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers and key stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees
The ideal candidate for this position as Senior Business & Financial Controller holds a university degree in Accounting or equivalent and has a few years of relevant experience in accounting and/or controlling. Good knowledge of controlling principles and IFRS principles/Tax Management are an advantage. Strong Ms office skills with the focus on Excel and Access. Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. Able to prioritize, work independently and take initiative. Good communicator in English and any other European language is an asset.
