Ideal Standard is a leading manufacturer of bathroom products in Europe and MENA, providing a broad range of branded products for residential and non-residential end-markets in more than 20 countries. We manufacture products for all of the major product categories in the bathroom products market with an annual turnover of around 725 Mio and we believe our comprehensive offering differentiates us from our competitors. We enjoy leading market positions in many of the largest bathroom products markets in Europe and MENA. We sell our products under a series of well-known international and national brands including Ideal Standard, JADO, Porcher, Armitage Shanks, Ceramica Dolomite and Vidima. As of 31 December 2019, we operated 14 manufacturing plants across Europe and in Egypt, and we employ almost 8,700 people across our business.

We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our HQ Finance team!

The role

You will be working in the central HQ to add significant value to the Finance team by:

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of actual initiative and profitability performance towards the management
• Pro-actively partnering with the different functions to generate, share and challenge expected financial performance
• Take initiative in Forecast and Budget processes to allow a deep understanding of performance and the identification of risks & opportunities by the business
• Be a central go-to finance expert on portfolio matters through developing and maintaining strong relationships around the business
• Be an active driver for internal profitability benchmarking and establish guardrails for acceptable initiative performance levels with ‘early warning indicators’.
• Take the lead in Transfer Pricing to optimize current processes ensuring it reflects market conditions
• Continuous improvement to controls, monitoring and processes (financial and non-financial) to facilitate decision making and understanding within the business
• Ensure transparency and full visibility on targets and performances and what that means in value terms.

Key Deliverables

• Initiative Planning & Reporting

-Execute the financial elements of the process across all deliverables – planning, reporting & analysis – in a timely and accurate matter

-Close financial follow-up on launches to ensure the projected financials (sales, cost and margin) are met and deviations (with its corrective plans) are brought to management’s attention in an open and transparent way

-Be a key Point of Contact from finance side to support questions from finance and cross functional teams

-Develop strong professional relationships across the business to maximise efficient and value adding working practices ensuring alignment in planning and execution.

• Product profitability / Margin Tracking

-Provide, monitor and analyse in a timely and accurate manner profitability reporting to allow to drive acceptable profit levels at category / product line level

-Own the margin targeting process that supports the budget and medium range (3 year) plan which is understood and aligned with the business

-Understand the margin drivers from an operational efficiency side in order to influence removal of those sku’s with profitability levels below the acceptable minimum and improving the profitability of others

-Lead internal profitability benchmarking with the Product teams to set (and maintain) the expected level of margin by category and help drive the Product teams and wider business toward this

• Transfer Pricing

-Optimize planning and monitoring of the European intercompany sales

-Establish a transfer pricing model which should reflect optimized target margin settings

-Pro-actively support our business partners by creating actionable insights on the intercompany product portfolio

-Ensure appropriate stewardship framework is in place and adhered to

• Capability Building / Continuous Improvement

-Continuously challenge the status quo by reviewing and critically assessing reporting capabilities, identifying and implementing process and control improvements (financial and non-financial)

-Work with Business Intelligence teams and IT to deliver the necessary toolkits that allow the business to make performance based decisions

-Build the financial capability across the teams by educating and challenging your partners

The candidate

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Management
• 5+ years’ experience in a broad range of financial roles (Big 4, Financial Analyst, Financial Controller) with 3 years’ experience in a commercial finance role
• Strong collaborator
• Demonstrable experience of creating planning and reporting capabilities
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrable experience of delivering operational analysis
• FMCG / Manufacturing experience
• Understanding and experience of Product Development cycle including margin management
