We are offering you the opportunity to join our Process Application Development team in Leuven, Belgium as a Process Engineer.

Our team develops new processes and applications in a vertical batch reactor for state-of-art integrated device flows. It is a chance to work in one of the most advanced scientific fields in the world and see your inventions in tomorrow’s products out in the market!

Responsibilities

• Work with semiconductor processing equipment to research, develop and optimize processes focused on oxidation, annealing, curing, and deposition (CVD, ALD) of thin films
• Develop new applications of thin films and processes in the areas of logic, memory, analog, power and MEMS
• Design and conduct experiments, measurements and performs the interpretation of complex experimental output
• Work with customers and product marketing to understand and define requirements in order to successfully execute projects and demonstrations
• Ensure successful product transfer to customer base by performing demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and traveling to support remote sites (up to 25% travel could be required)
• Deliver creative solutions, create inventions and develop intellectual property
  
  

Education

• PhD degree in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science, preferably with a thesis related to the semiconductor or adjacent industries
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 5 years experience with cure, oxidation, ALD, CVD and/or other thin film deposition techniques
• Experience with processing, developing and characterizing thin films
• Understanding of physics of semiconductor devices
• Experience with materials characterization techniques such as XPS, SIMS, RBS, AFM, XRR, XRD, TEM, SEM, and ellipsometry
• Knowledge of electrical characterization techniques for CMOS devices

• You’re able to understand semiconductor wafer processing equipment technology, advanced chemistries and the physics of semiconductor devices and materials
• You can independently manage process development projects
• You understand the interplay between hardware design and process outputs
• You’ve got a hands-on approach and flexible attitude
• You enjoy solving problems and driving results
• You’ve got verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly communicate advanced technical constructs in a direct and concise manner
