We are looking for one of our Telecom customers in Belgium for a Senior Support Engineer within the TIO Fixed Voice B2B Teamwhich is responsible to guarantee the availability of the Telenet Converged - Fixed Voice and IPC core network elements and services. Focused on the B2B customers and their voice services. In addition we provide a transparent implementation of new services and features within our area.

The TIO Fixed Voice B2B Team and its partners guarantee the availability of the Telenet Converged - Fixed Voice and IPC core network elements and services. Focused on the B2B customers and their voice services. In addition we provide a transparent implementation of new services and features within our area.

In order to strengthen our team we are looking for an experienced SRE Engineer in the area of legacy, VoIP and IPC / CloudPBX / B2B FMU / UC&C solutions.

Function

What is the SRE Engineer responsible of?

• Management of different network elements (Cisco Broadworks and other IPC platforms, Oracle, Audiocodesand other vendor SBC’s, NOKIA IN-platform,Media Gateways, Unixservers and VM’s …)
• Close co-operation with Voice B2B Engineering in product and network developments.
• Participation in initiatives & Epics to introduce new technologies, features, RFI-RFP processes. Focus on operational validation, acceptance & implementation.
• Implementation of Service Requestsregarding network growth and introduction of new technologies.
• You analyze different processes within the department and make improvements.
• You develop tools - automations for other departments (Shift Left), backup processes, software upgrades, migrations.
• You configure and maintain the monitoring systems for the Fixed Voice B2B and IPC core network.
• You check alarms and take suitable actions for alarm clearing.
• You analyze customer and network problems and correct them if necessary or supplement them with relevant info to support other groups or the manufacturer.
• You test new hardware and software based on the test plans (ATP).
• Operational responsibility and expert role in a field.
• Supporting role to the other group members and departments
• 24/7 on-call duty

Profile

• You have a Bachelor’s degree, a Master or the equivalent through experience.
• Preferably you have 5 years or more of experience in telecom.
• Knowledge and/or experience with fixed voice core technology and protocols (ISDN/ISUP/SS7-C7/INAP/ENUM/SIP/RTP -protocols) is key.
• So is Knowledge or experience with IP-networks, SBC’s, SIP-PABX, CloudPBX, UC&C, Unix/Linux, SQL …
• Solid experience on Cisco Broadworks and Oracle SBC’s is desired.
• You are organizationally strong, assertive, communicative and a team player.
• Your work is precise and you have a problem-solving attitude.
• You have strong analytical skills.
• You communicate fluently in English while Dutch and French are an important plus.
