Our client is looking for an System Engineer who will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining critical systems and supporting users while contributing to continuous improvement and security compliance within the IT environment

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining servers, networks, and workstations
  • Supporting first- and second-line colleagues with complex technical issues
  • Installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software
  • Monitoring system performance and implementing strong security measures, including firewalls
  • Documenting configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions
  • Collaborating with the IT coordinator on infrastructure improvements and upgrades
  • Assisting with internal audits and system migrations
  • Ensuring compliance with IT policies and data-protection standards
Profile

The ideal candidate brings:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in IT, System Administration, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Windows Server
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft 365
    • Networking protocols
  • Experience with:
    • Firewalls
    • Endpoint security
    • Backup solutions
  • Linux knowledge as a plus
  • A structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (French is a plus)
  • A strong focus on IT security in daily operations
