Our Procurement team of Deloitte Risk Advisory is currently looking for a:

Sourcing and Procurement Manager – Sustainable Procurement
A dynamic and experienced sourcing Professional with a strong focus on sustainable procurement

As Manager Sustainable Procurement, you will be able to apply your knowledge and expertise by advising clients on how to optimise their sustainable procurement vision and processes. You will develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential clients of Deloitte. In addition, you will also be able to develop new markets, where you will be given the necessary freedom to shape your own go-to-market initiatives in cooperation with our sustainability team.

Your Responsibilities:

At the client:

• Organize, coordinate and monitor the S&P department with strong focus on sustainable procurement (e.g.: green procurement, social procurement, linear green procurement, circular procurement).
• Develop their sustainability procurement strategy; you will assist the client in the strategic discussions to define their sustainability ambitions and translate these into concrete procurement and sourcing initiatives.
• Guide the client’s team through the tender process:
  • Conducting activities such as spend, risk, supplier and market analysis that enables the client to understand its needs;
  • Conducting feasibility studies on the client’s sustainability ambitions;
  • Translating and aligning the needs of the stakeholders/internal customer into the contract documents with strong focus on sustainability;
  • Providing sustainable opportunities for cost reduction of external expenditures;
  • Taking the lead and coaching the client in conducting the negotiation process within the limits of the legal framework;
  • Conducting supplier performance activities based on sustainable parameters and SLA’s;
  • Acting as the contact person for the client’s management for all relevant sustainable procurement topics and discussions.

Within the team:

• Be the go-to person for questions or business initiatives regarding sustainability in procurement
• Participate in our different business development events. In your role you will be able to connect with different sustainable communities within and outside Deloitte.
• Responsible for internal (Deloitte) and external (market) eminence in the field of sustainable procurement for a diverse audience.
• Build strong relationships with team members during team activities and events.
• Participate in networking events and actively build your own network within your area of expertise.

Required skills & experience

• You have at least 5 years of work experience, of which the last 2 years in the field of environmental, social and/or public procurement policies or supply chain mapping, sustainable sourcing, due diligence or related fields.
• You master key concepts and possess solid knowledge of policies in the field of sustainability and of the European Green Deal, such as EU climate action, "Fit for 55" legislative package, industrial (transition) policy, circular economy, "Eco" certification, energy transition, just transition, green cities and sustainable urban development, etc.
• You have a masters/postgraduate degree in Economics, Commercial or Civil Engineering, Commercial Sciences, Management, Finance or Political Sciences. An additional masters/postgraduate degree is a plus.
• You have project management skills, a commercial attitude and are willing to further market our services.
• You have excellent social and communicative skills, enabling you to adapt quickly to a new environment.
• You have proven management skills because you have experience in managing teams.
• You speak and write fluent Dutch or French and have a perfect knowledge of English.
