Pauwels Consulting is searching for a SQL Database Engineer (payroll or freelance) to join its growing Database Consultants-team. Are you the one-in-a-kind SQL Database Engineer that dares to take on challenging projects at our clients?

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Together with the developers you will participate in the design, implementation and operations of solutions to enhance our database stack.
  • Enhance and automate our database operations.
  • Enhance our monitoring & alerting stack of the application databases
  • Daily operational tasks (database change management, query fine tuning, troubleshooting, ...)
  • Provide the tools to developers to become autonomous in their daily data operations

    Have you got what it takes?

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of Microsoft SQL Server experience in a HA environment
    • Experience with IP infrastructure (Networking, DNS, …)
    • Knowledge of Ruby and Puppet (or strong will to learn)
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
    • Knowledge of PowerShell and various GIT flows
    • Problem solving attitude
    • Excellent communication skills in English
