Summary:

Duties



Serves as a trained alternate Receiving Clerk when s/he is out of warehouse or during busy season, and carries out Warehouse Management functions for the rest of their time.


Acts as alternate Receiving Clerk at the warehouse central and consolidated receiving point (CRP) for all USG expendable and non-expendable property including office and residential furniture, furnishings and equipment, office and maintenance supplies, books and subscriptions; and enters data into the ILMS receiving module, thus providing electronic copies to FMC, Procurement, and customers (46 ICASS agencies). Responsible for receiving and storing over 60,000 items valued at over $28 million for 1500 customers in the Tri-Mission as well as receiving accountable and non-accountable goods from the US Embassy in Luxemburg.


Maintains the storage areas, ensuring they are in a clean and organized condition, and that they are secure. Ensures that non-expendable property is protected from dust, dirt and other harmful environmental conditions, as well as from theft or pilferage, and is ready for immediate issuance. Ensures that the workplace is kept clean and bays are clear to allow access. Unloads incoming shipments (containers, vans, etc.) and unwraps/stocks incoming furniture. Makes sure that stocked material/goods/items are stored in a safe way and protected from dirt and dust, facilitating an easy scanning access. Assists with the delivery and collection of furniture, appliances, and equipment to all official USG buildings and residences in order to deliver professional service to our customers. Ensures that all selected items are fit for purpose (cleaning /re-polishing). Prepares all outgoing and receives incoming goods from all residences and offices as stipulated in the DS584’s. Verifies the ILMS database to ensure the tags correspond with the information provided on the requisition and/or if the tag number is in ‘active duty’. Assists and informs the inventory section and / or storekeeper within one working day when discrepancies are found. Checks battery levels of all battery-operated machinery (forklifts, electric hand trucks, etc.) and performs refills of distilled water where needed. Advises his supervisor when something is broken or in need of attention.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Two years’ work experience in private or government warehouse is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of the organization of the U.S. missions in Brussels and associated agencies. Knowledge of Code de la Route. Must understand and follow all pertinent SOPs, Mission goals, 14 and 15 FAM, as well as be able to use the Tri-Mission software systems and various modules and applications , the Final receipt module, Asset Management and reconciliation of furnishing within the ILMS database.

Education Requirements:

Secondary, commercial or administrative school required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge in English and French OR English and Dutch.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to prepare receiving reports and other documents required in support of the warehouse operation. Ability to deal effectively and politely with U.S. Government employees, contract vendors and members of the public living in the warehouse vicinity. Ability to read and thoroughly understand regulations regarding property management in 14 and 15 FAM and other post regulations. Ability to use all warehouse equipment and machinery safely and properly, as well as to instruct new employees in their usage. Ability to lift heavy objects. Must possess “B” driver’s license.
