Job Summary

The Technical Specialist – Flow Cytometry at Medpace Reference Laboratories plays a pivotal role in research based drug development within the pharmaceutical industry. Due to our recent growth, we are in need of qualified and focused driven individuals, like yourself. You would have the unique opportunity to work on the laboratory side of the fast paced medical world by conducting tests on blood, tissue and other samples. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting;
  • Perform laboratory investigations;
  • Perform testing, documentation, and routine lab system operations;
  • Ensure validity of laboratory data reported;
  • Prepares cytometers for the daily experiments as per appropriate SOP (Daily QC and experiment settings);
  • Supports operators for sample acquisition and cytometer troubleshooting;
  • Performs the cytometer maintenance (monthly clean, baseline) and quality controls as per appropriate SOP;
  • Manages the stock of cytometry-specific reagents, maintain overview of inventory and orders for Flow Cytometry platform;
  • Prepares study-specific flow cytometry documentation as per appropriate SOP and regulatory guidance;

Other Responsabilities
  • Participate in experimental design and instrument set-up;
  • Expected to develop knowledge of federal regulations regarding clinical trials;
  • Expected to develop knowledge of pre-analytical variables affecting clinical laboratory testing
  • Ensure validity of laboratory data reported.
  • Perform multicolor Flow Cytometry assays according to SOPs;
  • Participate in complex Flow Cytometry validation activities and participate in daily operation of the Flow Cytometry platform;
  • Contribute to maintaining a Quality environment and participate actively in SOP writing;
  • Maintain overview of inventory and orders for Flow Cytometry platform.

Qualifications
  • Min. Bachelor of Science degree;
  • Experience operating flow cytometry equipment (>2 years);
  • Knowledge of principles of flow cytometry
  • Experience in multicolor flow cytometry, preferably in a central lab environment;
  • Knowledge of BD FACSDiva or BD FACSUITE is preferable;
  • Basic knowledge of drug therapy techniques and medical terminology;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good command of both written and spoken of English;
  • Able to work in a team environment with effective interpersonal skills and able to work independently; and
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
