We are hiring a Technology Expert (Database Expert) for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Nature of the tasks
Non-exhaustive list of the tasks to be carried out:
 Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluatio studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices
 Provision of quality plans, quality assessments, quality control tests, evaluations and service level agreements associated with information system infrastructure services or projects
 Assistance in the implementation of a software engineering methodology
 Provision of security studies, security assessments and other specific security matters related to ICT infrastructures
 Elaboration of functional and non-functional requirements and business case analysis related to the area of expertise
 Elaboration of vision documents focused upon infrastructure components
 Risk analysis
 Review of Information Systems Infrastructure Architectures
 Provision of technical evaluations and audit reports in relation with information systems infrastructure

Knowledge and skills
 In-depth knowledge of ORACLE 12c (with a focus on features for developers)
 In-depth knowledge of SQL including performance tuning
 In-depth knowledge of PL/SQL
 Good knowledge of data modelling techniques and tools
 Good knowledge of database design techniques and tools
 Good knowledge of application development environments
 Good knowledge of Agile methodology
 Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
 Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, very good communication skills

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the
European Commission, candidates should also have the following nontechnical skills:
 Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
 Ability to understand, speak and write French and English (B2 level)
 Ability to work in a team
 Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on a large project

As the applications managed and maintained in DIGIT.B.4 contain personal and confidential data, a high degree of discretion and integrity is required from all our staff members.

Education and Experience
 Level of education corresponding to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework which typically corresponds to a master’s level or 5 years of higher education; where the minimum number of years of education is not fulfilled, 2 years of professional experience will be considered as equivalent for 1 year of study.
 Minimum 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 or 13 years of relevant experience for respectively level 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5; a given period counts only once (even for a person working during his studies).
