THE ROLE

Here at Imperial Brands, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Trade Segment Analyst Travel Retail to join our growing team based at our office in Mechelen. As a Trade Segment Analyst you are part of the Sales Strategy & Planning (SS&P) team and you report directly to the SS&P Manager. The SS&P team is responsible for determining and realizing the strategy per channel in line with the brands ambitions.

As part of Market Belux, the team is aware of what is going on in the market like no other. Generating initiatives and setting objectives, converting them into efficient and effective plans to respond to these developments in line with the strategy, and monitoring the results. In your role, you are responsible for developing and delivering the strategy for the various channels in which Imperial Brands operates. You are responsible for, among other things, monitoring the performance of the various channels, target setting in various areas (including distribution, volume/market share and investments) and making proposals to improve our performance. In addition, part of the work consists of Category Management tasks in close collaboration with our Key Account & Field Managers. This includes developing the right shelf vision and the right prioritization of our SKUs. You will also support the SS&P team in determining relevant initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct the analysis needed to determine the relevant initiatives (e.g. customer incentive plan, shelve strategy, sku periodization) and allocate the relevant investment and resources to deliver the plan;
  • Conduct return on investment analysis for key initiatives and propose budget reallocation according to business priorities and potential new opportunities;
  • Perform monthly sales forecast per channel and account from market perspective based on trade segment strategy;
  • Review the results of the customer advocacy programme to understand the implications to trade segment;
  • Validate solutions and opportunities required to develop the selected focus areas and customers;
  • Understand the commercial impact of the value proposition on the route to market, to feed into the Trade Segment Strategy;
  • Ensure the trade segment objectives are aligned and mapped to the relevant commercial levers;
  • Select the trade segment initiatives required to meet overall objectives, and define targets against which to measure performance;
  • Ensure the feasibility of proposed initiatives with a high level business case;
  • Set and review annual objectives for key account(s), both in terms of the performance of the account and Imperial’s performance within the account;
  • Support in the definition of annual objectives and targets for the trade segment, based on historical analysis, projected performance and core/non-core KPIs;
  • Support with his/ her analysis to the rest of the Sales Strategy & Planning team when needed including, amongst others, sales planning and performance review.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, commercial sciences, business administration or equivalent through experience;
  • You have worked in a similar position for at least 3 years;
  • You have an excellent knowledge of making reports in Excel. Experience with BI tools such as Power BI is a plus;
  • You can think analytically and draw relevant conclusions;
  • You are a good listener, you have strong persuasiveness and you present purposefully;
  • You can work independently;
  • You are solution-oriented;
  • Must: you are trilingual (FR/NL/EN).
