The Role

In this role, you will join our young and dynamic team and have the unique opportunity to streamline the consolidation and reporting activities for our companies around the globe, provide financial reporting advice and interpret regulatory reporting requirements within a business context.

Reporting to the accounting and reporting manager, you will support the business by preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, yearly and consolidated financial statements for our top mother company AB InBev SA/NV, conducting relevant financial analysis and assist in ad-hoc financial and regulatory reporting.

You will be partnering with the broader financial control team in Leuven (Belgium) and Luxembourg, as well as other group functions such as Financial reporting, Group Tax, Group Treasury and Internal Controls.

The Tasks
  • Execute monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities for the corporate entities located in Belgium in line with the group financial reporting timetable and SOX control requirements;
  • Prepare, maintain and execute the reconciliation of consolidated ledger accounts and financial statements (balance sheet, profit-and-loss statements, capital expenditure schedules, intercompany schedules);
  • Collect, prepare, review and submit the data for the annual local financial statements for the corporate entities located in Belgium;
  • Manage external auditors’ requests linked the financial statements of the year as well as for IFRS reporting;
  • Assist in resolving statutory accounting issues, but also in the preparation of the budget for the corporate entities located in Belgium;
  • Continuous process improvement to standardize monthly reporting process;
  • Lead/contribute to various finance projects across group reporting including the development, testing and deployment of new consolidated reports and intercompany reporting;
  • Perform all compliance activities linked to the Belgium corporate entities; Partner with broader stakeholders both locally and internationally across Financial Control, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Internal Controls and other non-finance teams.
Who are we looking for?
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance;
  • 3+ years in a “Big 4” audit firm or in a commercial Group Finance setting with a specific interest for accounting standards under IFRS and Belgium GAAP rules;
  • Qualified accountant with significant technical accounting experience; Familiarity with financial systems (SAP, Cognos) and advanced excel skills;
  • Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience;
  • Well-organized and willingness to challenge the status quo;
  • Natural collaborator and team player with strong stakeholder management and partnering capability who can initiate and facilitate discussions in an international working environment;
  • Proven ability to sustain high levels of performance in a fast-paced, output focused environment;
  • Fluent in English and Dutch. Knowledge of French is an asset but not a must.
