For the Luxembourg office, located in Windhof, we are looking for an Accouning Expert. The new joiner will directly report to the manager in Luxembourg.

Our client is part of a retail/service company. They are based in seven countries and they headquarter is located in Bruxelles.

As Accounting Expert, your responsabiities are :

Finance responsibilities:

  • Management of all aspects of accounting and financial reporting of the subsidiaries in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP in order to meet local statutory and group reporting requirements.
  • Close collaboration with the Job Cost Accountant in order to manage the capitalisation process and depreciation and amortisation expenses.
  • Execution of mergers, acquisitions and the integration as necessary.
  • Delivery of management reporting
  • Peparations of annual (local statutory) accounts & preparations of budgets.
  • Tax declarations and tax compliance activities in close collaboration with the Tax department.
  • Banking and treasury activities.
  • Payroll accounting of your market and reconciliation.

Process and systems responsibilities:

  • Implementation of procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and procedures for all business cycles in accordance with the company’s standards.
  • Implementation of the roll out of various control systems in your market(s).
  • Contribution to European projects: systems, integration of new entities, IFRS migration, maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Support the Accounting Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Application of and compliance with control processes.

People responsibilities:

  • Assistance in managing the Accounting team to deliver accounting & financial reporting services.
  • Collaboration with the other finance department to support overall goals and objectives.
  • Advise team members regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.

For this position, your qualifications are :

  • ABachelor’s degree in Accounting is mandatory
  • Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in Accounting
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Experience with IFRS and local GAAP is required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications and an advanced level in Excel.
  • Experience in the Services or Retail sector is required
  • Fluent in English and French, other language are considered as a strong asset
  • You proactively look for ways to increase customer satisfaction and ensure a customer-oriented attitude in the team
