Introduction

A leading company in the medical field is looking for its next Chief Accountant. With three hospital sites, each with a specialized focus, this organization is located near Wavre and is the result of a merger of several clinics. For over 100 years, the founders have been dedicated to creating innovative care subsidiaries for often neglected pathologies. As the Chief Accountant, you will have the opportunity to work not only in Wavre but also in Brussels. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of accountants.

Responsibilities

As the Chief Accountant, your main responsibilities will include ensuring the proper management of the organization’s accounting activities. Specifically, your duties will involve:

  • Supervising the accounting department
  • Recording and processing accounting data
  • Managing supplier relations
  • Overseeing investments
  • Handling patient accounts and liaising with insurers
  • Managing contentious cases
  • Administering cash and bank accounts
  • Handling VAT declarations
  • Preparing annual closure files

Profile

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, providing you with a solid foundation to expertly manage various accounting aspects.
  • You are fluent in French or Dutch, with a passive understanding of the other language, and are eager to improve your skills.
  • You have accumulated 5 years of experience in a similar role, during which you managed various areas of accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, general accounting, and VAT management.
  • You have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, enabling you to analyze and process accounting data effectively.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare sector would be a valued asset for this position
