Purpose of the job

To manage and optimize the day to day Ramp operations activities whilst being on shift in order to ensure full Ramp coverage and to meet customers’ needs and expectations.

As a member of the Ramp LGG Specialist team, control, prepare, communicate and report ramp turnaround operations activities, supported by excellent people management practices, resulting in improved service, productivity, people and customer results.

People collaboration

  • Provide immediate information to colleagues in order to act upon learning opportunities following operational exceptions or discrepancies or other incidents;
  • Take ownership of customer satisfaction.
Resource management

To effectively monitor the Ramp operations resources in order to meet and exceed internal and external service levels at all times, and to provide excellent service to customers.
  • Provide real time feedback to the Operations Manager(s) on-duty on any variations to work patterns that may require an adjustment to staff schedules
  • Balance capacity of resources and set timeframes to successfully complete the operations process steps
  • Report and if required escalate all issues impacting service;
Communication
  • Act as main base station for the company VHF frequency and ground duty radio in order to co-ordinate the transmission of operational messages between company aircraft, relevant TNT departments and external vendors
  • Be responsible for controlling effectively the ULD flow based on the input from the system and take corrective actions where/when necessary
  • Ramp Resources Planning and optimal utilization during the operations
  • Collaboration with professional partners (Airlines, Maintenance, Airport Authorities)
Internal compliance
  • Compliance with Ground Operations procedures / Ramp working instructions
  • Evaluate and review Operations performance
Preferred Experience/knowledge

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications & Certificates
  • Bachelor or equivalent by experience
Preferred Experience / Knowledge
  • International express or logistics industry background
  • Knowledge of radio telephony procedures
  • 3-5 years of experience in an Airline preferably in Flight Operations
  • Knowledge of Ramp Operations
  • One-year experience in managing a team.
Technical/Functional Skills
  • Communication skills in English – written and oral
  • Computers literate
  • Analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of French Language
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
