Howest AI Lab is een onderzoeksinstelling gevestigd in Brugge en Kortrijk die gespecialiseerd is in het overbrengen van kennis in verschillende domeinen van AI, energie en cyberveiligheid naar bedrijven. Elke subgroep binnen het lab heeft een eigen identiteit en experts die nauw samenwerken.

Rolbeschrijving

Dit is een hybride contractfunctie in Brugge, met enige flexibiliteit voor werken op afstand en een optie om ook in Kortrijk te werken. Als AI Onderzoeker ben je verantwoordelijk voor het uitvoeren en presenteren van onderzoek op gebieden als informatica, patroonherkenning, data science, onderzoek en statistiek. Er wordt ook van je verwacht dat je samenwerkt met experts uit verschillende domeinen en je bevindingen presenteert aan zowel academisch als zakelijk publiek.

Kwalificaties

Vereist:

  • Communicatieve vaardigheden in het Engels (bij voorkeur ook Nederlands)
  • Ervaring met programmeren in Python
  • Sterke motivatie om continu bij te leren

Goed om te hebben:

  • Ervaring met onderzoek
  • Ervaring met Machine Learning en Deep Learning
  • Ervaring met NLP en/of forecasting

Howest AI Lab is a research institution located in Bruges and Kortrijk that specializes in transmitting knowledge in various domains of AI, energy, and cyber security to companies. Each subgroup within the lab has its own identity and experts who work closely together.

Role Description

This is a contract hybrid role located in Bruges, with some flexibility for remote work and an option to work in Kortrijk as well. As an Artificial Intelligence Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting and presenting research in areas such as computer science, pattern recognition, data science, research, and statistics. You will also be expected to collaborate with experts from different domains and present your findings to both academic and business audiences.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Communication skills in English (preferably also Dutch)
  • Experience with programming in Python
  • Strong motivation to learn continuously

Nice to have:

  • Experience with research
  • Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning
  • Experience with NLP and/or forecasting
