Your role & responsibilities:
Our market investigation has shown that significant plant-based volumes can be developed in non-food applications within Europe. As Business Development Manager Plant-Based Solutions Non-Foodyou will be responsible for developing our sales volumes in these specific markets for Vandemoortele.
You will be responsible for:
- Exploring and studying customers’ specific needs/strategies, products, service, pricing, environment and potential partners. You define the technical needs per market by visiting existing and potential customers, reaching out to R&D and research partners, etc.
- Developing custom-made solutions, concepts and a fitting product portfolio in close cooperation with R&D and other departments.
- Exploring the volume & margin potentials in various subsegments.
- Managing key accounts personally.
- Supporting local industry commercial teams for smaller accounts. You provide advice on technical aspects, portfolio en margin management.
- Project management in close collaboration with several internal departments such as R&D, production sites, industry sales team, legal team, etc.
- Developing sales and negotiation of contracts.
- You will be part of the co-packing & international accounts team and report to the Commercial Manager Co-Packing.
About you
- You hold a Master’s Degree in Engineering (Chemistry is a strong plus) or Economics combined with preferably 3 years of experience in B2B (technical) sales.
- Above all, you have a very entrepreneurial, driven and winner spirit.
- You have a well-developed analytical (strong in figures, margins, calculation,…), conceptual and synthetic mindset. At the same time, you are pragmatic, problem-solving and looking for initiative.
- You are result-oriented and have an insatiable curiosity for new markets and segments.
- You are highly flexible, proactive and stress resistant.
- You are a team player, you have a hands-on mentality and a high degree of integrity.
- You are genuinely interested in the business and its markets.
- You are able to create trustful relations.
- You are willing to travel (short trips) 30-40% (especially in the start-up phase).
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in English and French/Dutch. Any other additional language is a strong asset.
