  • Leads the development of the trade marketing part of the category annual plans (contract process)
  • Understands market dynamics / consumer insights by channel to participate on trade marketing strategic decisions
  • Leads the business planning meeting where the sales quotas are built in order to accomplish the annual plans based on relevant building blocks
  • Suggests and influences investment in category building blocks, according to category and channel need, and is accountable of execution excellence at point of sale
  • Follows up the competition’s commercial activity in the category in order to detect business opportunities and potential threats for the brand
  • Plays a leadership role within the multi categories teams by leading, providing accurate and relevant channel point of sale information that will lead to find business opportunities such as innovations, customer promotions, portfolio, pricing, etc. that will lead to achieve multi categories targets

More About This RoleJob specific requirements:Category Manager BiscuitsAs a Category Manager, you will guide the design, implementation and monitoring of the category management projects for the clients for which you are responsible. This in order to optimize the sales of the Biscuits category and of MDLZ products. You will turn marketing plans into sales plans and you will monitor the performance of the introduction of new products, in order to contribute to the overall business goals. You will work closely with the KAM’s, the Regional Field Managers and the Category Planning Manager as well as with the Marketing teams. Next to that, you will represent Mondelez at our clients for a number of specific projects.Main Activities And ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the following points for the customers of Mondelez:
  • Develop a category annual-management plan for each client and recommend it to contribute to the whole account plans (CP). This is done in collaboration with the concerned KAMs
  • Advise our customers on category management through analysis of category / shelf / range and ensure optimum implementation of agreed action plans so as to contribute to the achievement of the customer’s specific objectives
  • Develop a category vision on the ideal shelf vision and work the necessary visibility tools for the product or category to increase the visibility of our products and marketing initiatives to optimize in the sector
  • Work closely with the clients and build a good cooperation with their category management department to optimize sales of our categories and to initiate several large projects that can serve as a basis for a national roll-out
You will work on the necessary sales arguments and cases in order to enable it for KAM’s and the Field to introduce new products and to protect and develop the currently existing business.You will advise our marketing colleagues about the suitability of their initiatives (e.g. on packaging design, new products, … ), to ensure optimal in-store impact on visibility and efficiency.You will ensure the follow-up of the CatMan-KPI’s (shelf share, best, shelf, brand block, ND & WD %, TDP, NP-performance and so on), to advise on the growth opportunities and/or action plans for the category.You will manage the budgets associated with our clients, categories and/or projects to optimize the ROI on CatMan-expenses.Qualifications
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in relevant experience
  • You have a very good knowledge of the Belgian retail market & you’re passionate about FMCG
  • You have field experience and at least 2 years of experience in an internal sales function
  • You have good analytical skills and you are result-driven and proactive
  • You’re able to work independently and category management has no surprises for you
  • You have a commercial feeling and skillset
  • You are a team player and you have good communication and presentation skills
  • You are fluent in English, French and Dutch, both written and spoken
