As a Cloud Administration & Operations engineer/manager, you strive for an excellent administration and operations of our infra workloads in the (public) cloud, mainly AWS. Your focus areas are FinOps and Asset & configuration management.

You will be part of one of the Cloud governance teams; our mission is to support other IT teams with cloud cost optimization, cloud infrastructure management, running the Sec DevOps community of practice and Edge Services (CDN, …).

Responsibilities

  • Financial optimizations of our cloud infrastructure workloads, follow up on the cloud infrastructure budgets and report on anomalies
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities to optimize, reduce cost and plans to realize the savings
  • Challenging good balance between business value and cost optimization
  • Mapping application landscapes and their components and costs
  • Build and maintain cloud usage visibility to proactively optimize workloads
  • Provide early intervention, management and advice to consumers of the services
  • Map business processes, identify gaps and define KPIs
  • Identify and document key business processes
  • In depth knowledge of cloud consumption and pricing model
  • Good knowledge of cloud native technologies and devops way of working
  • Review and streamline the design of current processes, identifying and working towards greater efficiencies
  • Ensure suggestions for validation controls and working towards implementation

Required experience and skills

  • Languages: DU (fluent) + EN (good knowledge) MANDATORY
  • Able to easily communicate with delivery teams and promote optimizations with the stakeholders
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure processes
  • Ensure transparency in projects and their status
  • Agile experience working in a scrum team
  • Ability to work in a team with people from all backgrounds
  • Previous experience negotiating and managing teams

Nice to have

  • FinOps Practitioner certification is a big plus
  • AWS certification is a big plus
  • Google Cloud Platform certification is a plus

Summary of mandatory requirements

  • Experience/Studies: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in domain
  • Languages: English + Dutch MANDATORY
  • Start: This is a freelance position. We are looking for freelancers that are able to start ASAP
