We are hiring a Configuration/Deployment Manager for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Main Responsibilities

As Configuration/Deployment Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Deploying new releases of applications in acceptance and production environments;
  • Build and continuous integration;
  • Software configuration management;
  • Release management and controls;
  • 2nd level support of Information Systems:
  • User requests related to data;
  • User requests related to configuration changes;
  • In-depth analysis of incidents;
  • Identification of root causes and potential solutions;
  • Co-ordination with other teams inside the unit and with IT departments of other DGs.
  • Continuous monitoring of information systems’ availability, performance and proper functioning;
  • Analysis of OS and application logs;
  • Analysis of IS performances;
  • Establishment / documentation of information systems’ operations procedures;
  • Management of development infrastructure (e.g. application servers);
  • Consolidating and managing the licences needed for the in-house development teams;
  • Participation in coordination and project meetings

Successful Candidate

Education and technical expertise

Level of education corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework (which typically corresponds to a bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education).

In-depth knowledge (10 years) of experience in the following domains:

  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes, especially deployment management, software release management, change management and monitoring and event management;
  • Good understanding of DevOps practices;
  • Experience in working in an IT operations team;
  • Excellent knowledge of software deployment management
  • Good knowledge of software release management
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability of integration in an international/multicultural environment.

Specific expertise

  • Knowledge of Windows operating system;
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments;
  • Knowledge of application servers;
  • Knowledge of Team Foundation Server;
  • Good experience or the capacity to acquire swiftly sufficient knowledge on
  • PKI and certificates
  • Network architecture, components and protocols
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server
  • Experience with software deployments tools;
  • Experience in investigating issues and bugs in the applications;
  • Experience in database queries with SQL;
  • Experience with system, capacity and performance monitoring solutions (Dynatrace is an advantage);
  • Experience with service desk management tools (including SMT).

Languages

Fluent in English. French is an asset. Documents will be written in English
