With this in mind, we are looking for a Data Engineer to strengthen our ‘Business Intelligence’ team (Belgium).

Main activities

• Assist in defining and reviewing process requirements and use cases for the application
• Use the business process requirements to drive out application requirements
• Design the application to meet the business process design and application requirements
• Confirm the design with the stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies the requirements
• Inform the lead architect and project manager of any issues that may affect other areas of the project
• Participate in transitioning the designs to the developers, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the designs
• Complete all appropriate documentation required by the developers, testers, deployment team, and application management team that will maintain the application
• Design/Build/Test/Deploy the application interfaces, ETL/ELT processes, and metadata
• Collaborate with development/testing/dataOps/devOps/MLops teams to ensure proper implementation

Expertise and training

The position requires an experienced Data Engineering Specialist, with strong knowledge in the areas of Information exchange, management, delivery and consumption. The person should have worked on multiple projects through Agile software development processes and performed analysis and design of information management leveraging technologies associated with Data, Coding and visualizations.

Skills

• B license
• Relational and writing skills in French and English
• Familiar with process design concepts and principles for data lifecycle
• Knowledge of relational database concepts
• Talend Product Suite, Azure Cloud, SQL, Powershell, Collibra, Ataccama, Databricks, ADLS, SQL DW, Git, CI/CD, Big Data – Hive, Spark
• Strong foundations in distributed computing and cloud friendly ETL/ELT designs
• Ability to transform client requirements into a workable design at the functional and/or technical levels
• Ability to translate functional requirements into technical terms relevant to the data product to coordinate and assist with the detailed technical design tasks
• Facilitation experience for conducting user design and review sessions and running stakeholder agreement meetings on data process designs
• Familiar with Joint Application Design (JAD) session, Conference Room Pilot (CRP), and similar approaches and principles
• Information Management Lifecycle and Best Practices

Nice to have

• Understanding on Life Sciences – Vaccines – Manufacturing Operations and Tech
• Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Teams
