With this in mind, we are looking for a Data Modeler to strengthen our ‘Business Intelligence’ team (Belgium).

Main activities

• Work with the business, users, lead architect, and designers to define the data requirements and structure for the application
• Model and design the application data structures (data mart and semantic layer)
• Lead the database analysis and design
• Work with the integration architects and designers to design the integration solution
• Ensure that the database designs fulfill the requirements, including data volume, frequency needs, and long-term data growth
• Assist in determining the cross-application data standards, data distribution standards, and tuning strategies
• Ensure that the developers and database administrators responsible for developing the database thoroughly understand the requirements and designs
• Participate in quality management reviews

Expertise and training

The position requires a highly seasoned senior data modeler, with strong knowledge in the areas of data modeling, cross-application data standards, data distribution standards, and tuning strategies. The person should have worked in multiple data products through software development processes (agile) and built logical/physical data models leveraging the tools like CA Erwin and model management through product lifecycle

Skills

• B license
• Relational and writing skills in French and English
• Ability to develop relational, hierarchical and dimensional data models
• Ability to conduct analysis and articulate business entities and descriptions in both functional and technical nomenclature
• Ability to develop or revise the database architecture per data requirements
• Ability to convert data and related techniques to acquire data needed to support testing, training, and other application development activities
• Ability to review product deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established architecture standards
• Ability to document and communicate progress against plans, taking preventive / corrective action as necessary
• Ability to identify, clarify, and resolve issues and risks, escalating them as needed
• Ability to establish the fit for purpose data model designs and clarify questions from data engineers, data scientists, BI Engineers and testers
• Toolkit – JIRA, Confluence, Teams, Office, ERwin / ER Studio, SQL, Reporting tools, Data Integration tools
• Strong Presentation skills

• Understanding on Life Sciences – Vaccines – Manufacturing Operations and Tech
• Information Management Lifecycle and Best Practices
