The Role

We are looking for a passionate and committed Data Governance Manager to take a leadership role, developing and strengthening the data stewardship model securing collaboration with the business data owners and the Process Councils within Atlas Copco Compressor Technique Business Area.

Proper governance across all Data Domains contributes to process efficiency between Product Companies, Distribution Centers, and Customer Centers. Data Governance encompasses securing ownership of data objects derived from the different applications and IT systems, securing definition, documentation and cataloging of these, building data models which are fit for purposes and securing data quality.

You are assigned ownership to ensure consistent quality and standardization of our data assets and business glossary. This encompasses Data Governance and Data Quality awareness programs, securing the Data Stewardship across all Data Domains (Process Councils) and all Business entities and overseeing the master data definition and management. In order to realize your mission, you will steer and coordinate the domain stewards in each of the end-to-end processes. You will oversee business rules and required controls to monitor data quality with respective application and IT system data stewards. You will closely collaborate with the corresponding Business Process Experts (BPX) within our business entities.

You are a dynamic person with strong interpersonal skills. As such this role will grow your experience further through a wide interaction with all divisions within Business Area. You will also liaise with your counterparts on Group level and in the other Atlas Copco Group Business Areas to leverage to the maximum their experience and best practices where possible. Governance

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Secure and continue with the Data Governance mission, vision and strategy and secure continuous review and validation with the Data Governance Council
• Execute Data Governance roadmap and secure continuous validation and adaptation
• Further mature and develop data stewardship network and data domains
• Establish policies, procedures, and rules related to data objects and fields across all data domains and secure endorsement by the Data Governance Council
• Provide full support to various data stewards within Business Area CT to achieve standardization (definitions, procedures, metrics) and data alignment thus forming a community of active, engaged, and enthusiastic data driven professionals
• Define and promote Data Governance awareness and report on actionable, value added KPIs reflecting the Data Governance maturity
• Own the architecture of the master data flow through all systems and collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Design Authority
• Secure close collaboration with the ongoing Master Data initiatives for Product Companies, Distribution Centers, and Customer Centers, leveraging across SAP Master Data Governance
• Develop a data culture within the organization through various promotional activities and championing the importance of consistent high-quality data cross business functions
  

Processes And Procedures

• Define process flows, dependencies, mappings for data objects across the different Data Domain in close cooperation with the Business Process Managers
• Look for ways to improve, standardize and harmonize data maintenance processes and procedures
• Look for sustainable solutions rather than local fixes and collaborate closely with the Master Data Governance organization
• Ensure maximal alignment and sharing of best practices related to master data management
• Support the SAP Master Data Governance Team (Product Companies and Distribution Centers) and the Master Data Management Team (Customer Centers) to secure common business partner, material and equipment definition across all systems
  

Data Quality

• Oversee data quality rules and controls for respective data objects within data domain and report KPIs back to the Data Governance Council
• Define, initiate, and drive master data quality improvement initiatives, promote master data quality policies, practices, and business decisions around master data harmonization
• Develop a data culture within the organization through various promotional activities and championing the importance of consistent high-quality data cross business functions
  

What we expect of you?

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a good blend of business and data technical skills. Specific requirements for this position include:

• You have a university degree in business, engineering, economics, informatics or equal by experience
• You have strong leadership skills next to very strong analytical skills
• You have at least 5 years of experience in data governance and support
• Experience in in project management is an asset
• Experience in business case development is an asset
• You have good negotiation skills
• Experience in SQL, Databricks, Power BI among other data components in Azure are strong assets
• You have an excellent level of English
• Local language skills are considered as a strong asset
