LET’S TALK ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary responsibility is to manage the Engineering, Systems & Facilities Department, supporting the Belgian DCs: overall budget, staffing, organization & collaboration + project management, execution & implementation.
The primary goals are to enhance operational reliability, capacity, productivity, lead times, accuracy and safety by process & data analysis and setting appropriate priorities.
JOB DETAILS
- Challenges & projects are related to:
-Storage & Material Handling Equipment,
-Systems (ERP-WMS-WCS-Interfacing),
-Safety & Ergonomics.
- Manage the priorities in continuous improvement & issue solving with your team in collaboration with DC Operations & other stakeholders.
- When appropriate support new sites design, development & start-up. This may include the integration of new brands, relocation & rationalisations (which may initiate exit or construction of DC facilities).
- Explore the market developments and manage awareness of these new developments & their impact/potential in the team and DC stakeholders.
- Manage the Engineering systems & Facilities department:
- Provide strategic planning, resource allocation, operational execution, organizational management, overall project management and financial responsibility.
- Manage 3rd parties (& contracts) supporting the DC’s on Engineering, Systems & Facilities.
- Coach and elevate the department to a higher level.
- Analyse challenges, pro-actively look for opportunities, evaluate alternative solutions and support implementations.
- Propagate & practise E2E vision: impact over total supply chain.
- Propagate & practise Root Cause Analysis (5 why’s – 9 why’s - …).
- Quantify E2E impact in capacity – capex – opex – complexity: allowing data driven decisions.
- Agile solutions development approach.
- Create appropriate reporting – tools – KPI follow-up.
- Establish internal control related standards & procedures.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Master’s degree, preferably in Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Commercial Engineering or equivalent by experience.
- 10 years of related professional experience.
- Fluent in Dutch & English.
- Strong Software affinity: ERP (like SAP), WMS (like PKMS), WCS. Business Intelligence software knowledge or Data Analysis tools. Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, …).
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, taking into account E2E solutions (with appropriate attention to detail).
- Good project management & organizational skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, communicating with different levels of stakeholders.
- Occasional travel within Europe.
