Short description:

We are looking for an Acoustic Development Engineer to join our team at Free Field Technologies, part of Hexagon.

As Acoustic Development Engineer, you will work in the Product Development team that is responsible for the development of our acoustic simulation software, Actran.

Ideally, our candidate would have some initial industry experience, but we also welcome applications from recent graduates and we are willing to fully train the person for the role.

Tasks in detail:

  • Development of new features in Actran, matching with industrial expectations (accuracy, performances, robustness).
  • Participation to acoustic research topics.
  • Recommend new technologies to be integrated in Actran to solve new challenges efficiently.
  • Interfaces with third party software when required.
  • Work on bug fixes.
  • Identify software design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • Quality Assurance (QA), industrial validation and software documentation benefit from daily interactions with dedicated teams.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or any other relevant Engineering field.
  • Strong interest in acoustics and programming, and preferably with related experience.
  • Strong interest in working with complex object-oriented software: C++ (generic programming, Standard Template Library, boost libraries) and Python (C-bindings, python extension libraries, numpy, scipy, matplotlib).
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
