We are hiring an AV&C Events Technician / Junior for our prestigious partner DIGIT TM (DG Informatics) in Brussels. DIGIT-TM is a contract from the European Commission for IT services across Europe.

Main Responsibilities

As AV&C Events Technician / Junior you will be responsible for:

  • First level technical support of audio-visual equipment for meeting and conference rooms managed by DG Interpretation.
  • Organisation, implementation and maintenance of AV and IT support.
  • Follow-up of service quality.
  • Incident resolution recording in SMT (System Management Tool).
  • Guidance regarding the use of AV and IT systems for end users.
  • Management of incidents related to AV and IT systems.
  • Participation in user, service and project meetings.
  • Local control room: to manage the interventions of the participants in the room (speeches, presentations, projections, videoconferences), to check the good quality of the interpretation diffusion, to manage the sound system and the recording (audio and video)..
  • Central control room (opsroom): to manage the lighting and extinguishing of technical equipment in all the conference rooms of the building, to ensure the technical follow-up of the meetings and the recording of the debates (audio and/or video), to check the languages regime, to program the interpretation booths.
  • Daily check of the audio-visual equipment of the conference rooms.
  • Management of the portable interpretation equipment (PIE).
  • Detection of any technical malfunctions and, as far as possible, correction. This always in close collaboration with the technicians of the general direction.

Successful Candidate

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of audio-visual and IT material, and of multimedia technologies.
  • Experience with microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, recording equipment, sound and mixing boards.
  • Knowledge of Dante, Bosch Conference System, Corio Mix, AMX, AlphaNET, Fusion, Tesira, daVinci, MultiLAN, Cortex, Webex or CISCO equipment.
  • Experience with SMT (System Management Tool).
  • Previous experience with portable interpretation equipments (PIE).
  • Experience in end user assistance or support of information systems.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Experience and ability to work both in local or central control rooms.
  • Ability to apply high quality standards.
  • Capability of working in an international/multicultural environment.
  • Proficient in English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Customer oriented service and good team spirit.
  • Previous experience as conference operator in EU Commission.
  • Knowledge of meeting and conference rooms in the EU Commission.
