Duties And Role

This Statement of Work (SoW) specifies the required skillset and experience. The contracted individual must be able to perform effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. The contracted individual will be asked to support the development of one or more technical deliverables and/or provide exercise support in execution of projects undertaken within the 2022 calendar year. Progress review meetings shall be held regularly, at least once per week, with the NCI Agency task leads.

Main Duties Will Be As Follows

• Configure firewalls, routers, switches, network proxies, VPN concentrators to maximise network efficiency and security according NCSC Operational needs.
• Support the Initiation, preparation, follow-up and defence of any specialist applications upgrades in front of the Change Management Board
• The configuration and deployment of vulnerability assessments (e.g. Tenable Nessus), computer forensics (e.g. AccessData) tools
• The configuration, tuning and deployment of monitoring tools/appliances and incidence response tools such as RSA Netwitness, Splunk
• Configuration and deployment of virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare NSX-T)
• Implement security settings relating to any of Cisco, Juniper, Linux, Unix, Microsoft operating systems
• Maximise network performance and availability through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting by using networking experience and management applications
• Efficiently investigate faults in the network and propose improvements.
  
  

Requirements

Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

• The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
  
  

The required skillset for the contracted individual is extensive knowledge and experience (more than 5 years) in the following areas:

• General, wide breadth knowledge of cyber security principles, best practices, concepts and technology.
• Solid knowledge of cyber security, including configuration and integration of boundary protection components e.g. firewalls, NIPs, HIPs, diodes), encryption, identity and access management, monitoring and detection, incidence response, vulnerability assessments, computer forensics and risk management. In particular knowledge and recent/relevant experience in the following technologies will be required: Juniper and Palo Alto, web application proxy, RSA Netwitness, Splunk, Tenable Nessus, AccessData.
• Design and configuration of various IT infrastructure elements within projects.
• Experience in routing and switching and virtualisation technologies i.e. VMWare related technologies.
• Proven ability to deliver technology/systems/solutions/capabilities for industry, government, or military.
• Knowledge and experience in requirements management, system design, and system engineering for cyber security system;
• familiarity and experience with requirements managements systems such as IBM Rational DOORS is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in executing implementation projects together with industry in the cyber security area, including proven ability to develop statements of work and system requirements statements.
• Knowledge and experience in testing and validating that contracted deliveries meet the requirements and fulfil the intended use-cases.
• Familiarity with system accreditation and deployment of CIS, including deployment to operational military areas.
• Experience with implementation projects within NATO and/or National military organizations is desirable.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and in teams to achieve the desired goals, including the ability to monitor and support a team of industry.
• Excellent communications and writing skills in English.
