We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Customer Accounting Officer to join our team within the newly acquired business, within Business Unit. The Billing Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for our transportation and logistics services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, dedicated to maintaining precise invoicing procedures and providing outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and review invoices for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
- Process billing transactions accurately and efficiently, including but not limited to freight charges, fuel surcharges, and accessorial fees.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Operations and Customer Service to resolve billing discrepancies and address customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintain billing records and documentation, including customer contracts, rate agreements, and billing schedules.
- Prepare and distribute billing reports to management, providing insights into billing trends, revenue performance, and outstanding balances.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts receivable and resolving any outstanding issues.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to billing and invoicing processes, recommending improvements as needed.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction within the billing function.
Key Experience / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in billing, invoicing, or accounting roles, preferably within the transportation
- or logistics industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally
- with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
- Fluent in Dutch and French and / Or English.
Desirable:
- Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics Navision (local ledger system)
- Knowledge of transportation industry regulations and billing procedures is a plus.
