We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Embedded Software Developer who would like to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.

As a Software Developer you will be responsible to develop and maintain embedded code and technology for the process controller of a 3D printer in an agile development process. You will be supporting the product team to define new feature requirements and translate these into designs supported by the hardware development and the testing team.

You will work in our Software Business Unit, where we provide companies a platform of software tools that manage and control their 3D printing process more efficiently, allowing our customers to meet the highest standards of the most demanding industries.

The team in Ghent is responsible for the centralization of the development of an embedded controller. This contains the product definition, the hard- and software development, quality control and production. More information: Control-platform

Qualifications & Experience
  • You will be responsible to develop code and technology for the process controller of a 3D printer in an agile development process;
  • You will be supporting the product team to define the high-level requirements of new features and translate these into designs;
  • You are responsible to create unit tests and align with the testing team for integration testing;
  • You will support the testing and hardware development team;
  • You will support the R&D team in HQ and align with other product teams in Materialise.

Requirements
  • You hold a Master’s degree (technical education) or have similar knowledge by experience;
  • You have an analytical mindset;
  • You show a proven track record in software development;
  • You are interested in and willing to learn about embedded software development;
  • You have a good understanding of object-oriented design and development;
  • Knowledge about LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time, LabVIEW FPGA is a plus. Prepared to learn how to work with LabVIEW is a must;
  • You feel comfortable programming in C(++) and C#;
  • Experience in Azure DevOps and Git is a plus;
  • You thrive when you are able to work in a multi-disciplinary team;
  • You are fluent in English;
  • You’ll be able to work from home 3 days a week and you are willing to meet with your colleagues in Ghent (and in Leuven) once a week.
