Team

Within the Group Corporate Accounting department, we are looking for a Finance specialist to strengthen our Accounting Direct Margin team. The role of our team is to manage the accounting of all revenues and direct costs associated with these last ones, inventories, customers as well as bad debts of Proximus SA in accordance with BeGaap and IFRS standards. In other words, the Accounting Direct Margin team is responsible for :

• The accuracy, completeness and timelines in the booking of direct costs and revenues, inventories, customer transactions and bad debts by segment
• Reconciliations and monthly closing of general ledger accounts linked to all Proximus customer accounts
• Explanation of monthly figures and variances for the revenues, direct costs, inventories and bad debts accounts

Our team is also involved in all projects aimed at launching new products and services as well as new model business. This enables us to know the financial impact that they will generate for Proximus SA and to apply the appropriate accounting treatment for each of them

Tasks and responsibilities

• You will become familiar with the specific processes and products related to the areas within your scope of responsibilities
• You will ensure that all accounting transactions within your area of responsibilities are timely posted, reported and correctly valued taking into consideration all applicable BGAAP, IFRS, Tax and VAT rules
• You will participate in the monthly and yearly closing activities by ensuring that all figures are posted accurately and on time, by providing the appropriate financial reports, analysing and presenting the conclusions of the monthly variances to the accounting Manager as well as other stakeholders in the Finance department
• You will perform proper reconciliation and analysis for specific domains in order to provide accurate and reliable financial information to the accounting Manager within the specified deadlines
• You will ensure the automation of accounting processing and monitoring of the various financial flows in your area of activity due to the business and applications evolution
• You will ensure intercompany reconciliations accurately and within the specified deadlines
• You will assist various department with accounting-related questions and requests
• You will participate in external audit process by providing information and explanations requested by the auditors
• You will actively participate in new projects that impact your area of responsibility. In this regard, you will need to define the requirements or changes to be made to your tasks domain in order to ensure the accurate accounting treatment and follow-up of new financial flows. You will also have to describe and simulate test scenarios.

Your Profile

• You have at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting
• You have at least 5 years recent experience in the general Accounting domain
• You have a good knowledge of IFRS standards
• You have a good experience and knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office tools with a focus on Excell and Power BI
• You are well organized and able to work to tight deadlines
• You are able to work independently
• You have an analytical, critical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• You have good communication skills in English, French and Dutch
• You are resistant to stress and you are able to determine the priorities yourself
• You are flexible and open-minded
• You are able to quickly absorb and put in practice the explanation given to you
• You are pro-active, precise and rigorous
• You like working in a team
