AB InBev is seeking a Global Director Packaging Innovationfor their Global Innovation & Technology Center (=GITEC), in Belgium. GITEC is the Global R&D Center of AB InBev.

Purpose of the job:

This role will be positioned to work with Consumer Insights and Technology trends to set an agenda with Marketing counterparts supporting global brands and top 21 brands in our company. They must be able to translate these insights into viable concepts that drive our Innovation principles of Superiority, Scalability, Sustainability and Incrementality. Consumer facing packaging solutions creating Top Line Growth with our global suppliers (new and current) and internal resources create business viable packaging solutions for increase sales volume and/or revenue. These new concepts would be implemented across our 6 geographical zones (North America, Middle America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific)

Key accountabilities of the position:

  • Develop the packaging technology pipeline to deliver Top Line growth to the zones.
  • Foresee changes in technology that can provide more efficient processes while meeting the needs of our consumers. Work with the global engineering, procurement and technology development teams aligning the development to our products.
  • Support the zones to deliver the concepts to market through the core machine or our partners in ZX, adjacencies, or non-alcohol divisions.
  • Influence the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) R&D pipeline, so that it is aligned with ABI’s strategy. You will ensure ABI is at the forefront of innovation engineering (r)evolutions brought to market by suppliers.
  • Translate the commercial innovation needs into technical capabilities/solutions to enable great new consumer products.
  • Identify, validate, and qualify new technology providers and alternative technology suppliers.

Education:

  • University degree in a relevant Engineering field. MBA is a plus. Preferably a complementary advanced level degree, providing further exposure to technology engineering and management together with an understanding of commercially oriented business knowledge.

Experience:

  • Successful track record in managing complex engineering projects, specially linked to innovation and technology development.
  • "Strong leadership and communication skills, interpersonal relationships, persuasion skills. Ability to work with undefined concepts with the ability to shape them into viable concepts that can be brought to market.
  • Generate network of contacts with clients and ability to develop a professional relationship."
  • Min. 8 years of professional experience in an engineering capacity either in packaging, utilities or brewing
  • Critical and conceptional thinker, ability to summarize and prioritize. Consumer is boss mindset, moving our busines to where the consumer will be. Supplier relationship skills are a must
