Our team, based in Mechelen (Belgium), is looking for a new colleague to help shape the future! You will support businesses that specialize in innovative, science-based, solutions. You will be part of an international team with a focus on the EMEA region (Europe, Middle-East and Africa).

Description

You are responsible for managing and optimizing customs processes in several countries in Western Europe. You are the first point of contact for internal (businesses,…) and external (customs authorities, agents,…) customers/parties, ensuring customs compliance within the DuPont processes. Depending on the assigned area of expertise your tasks may vary. You perform this function out of our offices in Mechelen.

Your main tasks include
  • Ensure and support compliant and timely import and export transactions/processes according to ISO standards. Examples being instructions/SOP’s to external agents, reconciliation/reporting of internal customs transactions, application for customs licenses/authorisations, origin calculation, tarification…;
  • Check customs duty calculation and prepare customs duty payment. Analyse and resolve customs non-settlements (transit documents, confirmations of exit, excise documents) with respective teams;
  • Support and assist in DuPont Customs Internal control program and Import/Export compliance reporting as well as being the primary contact for Customs authorities in external controls /audits;
  • Support, lead specific customs projects and provide guidance and training in customs related activities
  • Help drive continuous process improvement in the Customs team;
  • Being a DuPont Customs Systems key user (SAP GTS Customs / Excises / Export control) is a plus;
  • Analyse market situation and buy customs clearance services.
  • Looking for opportunities in the customs duty management regimes (e.g. IPR/OPR, bonded warehouse)
  • Ensure correct Preferential / Origin related questions, investigations, calculations - FTA
Your profile
  • You have a bachelor degree in Logistics/Customs/International Trade or equivalent by experience;
  • You have several years of work experience in the field of customs and trade compliance;
  • You have good interpersonal skills and you are a strong communicator;
  • You are familiar with SAP;
  • You have an openness to change and proactively seek continuous improvement, Six Sigma certification or other process improvement knowledge is a plus;
  • Experience with E-customs systems such as SAP GTS is a plus;
  • Knowledge / Experience of Export control compliance Programs, Dual Use Goods
  • You work independently / autonomously but with strong C&TC EMEA team collaboration for synergies / back-up
  • You are fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
