We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Hydraulics (m/f) to join our team!
About the Role:
As a key member of our Hydraulics Actuation team, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge hydraulic components and subsystems for hybrid transmission systems.
This role offers the opportunity to work within an agile framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams across our locations in Sint-Truiden, Belgium, and Eindhoven, Netherlands.
Your expertise will be crucial in advancing our mission to shape the future of sustainable automotive technology.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of mild and full hybrid transmission systems by designing and optimizing hydraulic components and sub-systems.
- Design and develop hydraulic and filtration components including e-pumps, valves, solenoids, and springs to meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.
- Define component requirements, align them with subsystem, and create supplier specifications.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics simulation software (MATLAB/Simulink) to model, analyze, and optimize system performance.
- Perform in-depth tolerance stack-up calculations for complex mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Identify potential failure modes using FMEA and develop comprehensive validation plans for hydraulic components and subsystems.
- Manage supplier communications – coordinate, review, and follow-up design changes and timely part deliveries.
- Lead X-functional team of design, purchase and SQE and process-development for hydraulics components.
- Knowledge of Design for manufacturing / assembly processes for hydraulics components such as aluminum Die-casting, machining, part cleanliness etc.
Preferred qualifications:
- You have an engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree (industrial, electromechanical, or mechanical) or equivalent by experience.
- You have thorough knowledge and experience in mechanics, dynamics, and production (preferably in an automotive environment).
- Experience in automotive development scheme and related processes i.e., FMEA, APQP, DCP, 6-Sigma, 8D.
- Basic knowledge of CAE and strong knowledge of Creo and Windchill.
- Thanks to your persuasive communication skills and good knowledge of English, you excel at teamwork and are strong in reporting knowledge and results.
- You are an independent, perseverant, and systematic worker with a goal-oriented and analytical mindset.
