RSS is looking forward to hiring an Network Engineer.Previous experience in retail, logistics, production or industry would be a big plus.

Job Description

As a network/security engineer, he/she will be responsible to handle the technical aspects of the network and security infrastructure, provide technical security guidance towards other teams and provide advice in and work on different projects. And whole of this on a cloud based platform or on-prem.

As an network engineer , you will be responsible for:

● Procure network equipment

○ Recommend, design and implement new solutions or procedures to improve the resilience of network/telephony operations and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.

○ Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, firewalls, ...

○ Collaborate with network architects to optimize system performance.

● Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases

○ Schedule updates and upgrades

● Document and report

○ Create and maintain technical documentation.

○ Create and maintain an inventory of network and telephony assets.

○ Report network status to key stakeholders

○ Report network operation status based on project management and priority information.

● Coordinate incident troubleshooting and remediation activities

○ Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems and outages

○ Engage in data network fault investigations

● Define, document and enforce network system standards

○ Secure network systems with policies that define and monitor access

● Liaising with project management teams, engineers from Carrefour’s managed service provider and service desk engineers on a regular basis;

Your Profile

● Bachelor or Master degree in IT

● At least 5 years of experience in a similar role

● Fluent in English and in Dutch or French

● Strong knowledge of networks and network security practical applications

● You are eager to learn and you can figure out difficult problems by yourself

● You have no problem with working independently or in team

● You have no problem with helping out others

● You are flexible and can adapt yourself easily to change

● You can think out of the box

Required security knowledge:

● You have a strong knowledge of networks and network security practical applications

● You have experience with firewalls (Palo Alto Networks and Check Point)

● You have experience with establishing different kinds of VPNs (IPSEC, SSLVPN)

● You have experience with (reverse) proxies

● You have a good knowledge of Linux operating systems

● You have working knowledge of network debugging tools

● You have a good knowledge of web application security

Required network knowledge:

● You have a strong knowledge of networks and addressing concepts

● You have a strong knowledge in routing. (BGP and OSPF)

● You have a strong knowledge in switching. (Cisco / Aruba, VLANs, STP, cabling, ...)

● You have a strong knowledge in wireless networks (Cisco and Aruba)

● You have a good knowledge of DNS

● You have a good knowledge of DHCP

● You have a good understanding of WAN networks (MPLS)

● You have experience in network debugging (packet capture and analysis via Wireshark, ...)

The following knowledge is nice to have:

● Google Cloud Platform, mainly networking and security implementations

● Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, ...)

● Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, GDM)

● Configuration management automation
