Project Engineer – Process Automation

Process Automation is #2 in the market globally. You will be the working for diverse engineering projects in Process Automation – Energy Industries in Belgium. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will participate in (inter) national projects, which are carried out with ABB own product line, positioned number 1 in the field of installed DCS systems. You will be making technical recommendations in the testing, installation and commissioning phases of customer projects.

Your responsibilities

• Translating customer’s requirements and wishes into an automation solution and create a functional and technical design.
• Desiging and programming application software for DCS systems.
• Performing acceptance and functional testing.
• Providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals.
• Supporting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors and vendors.
• Supporting contract managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards.
• Helping customers resolve technical issues both remotely and on domestic and international customer.
• Providing the cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule and safety requirements.
• Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.
• After a training course you will be deployed on a project basis on process automation projects.

Your background

• An Engineering degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar field.
• Interest / Knowledge of and experience with modern server systems, PLC and DCS systems, virtualization.
• Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
• A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
• You have a high sense of responsibility, a hands-on attitude and are service- and customer-oriented.
• You have good communications and social skills.
• Good mastery of the French, Dutch and English languages, oral and written.
