The role

As an AZURE Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the overall development and design of a robust, scalable, and cloud-based platform, mainly regarding BI applications, data and / or technological structures.

You will operate as an AZURE Subject Matter Expert implementing and overseeing cloud computing strategy in IQVIA Belgium. This entails mapping cloud adoption plans, business intelligence/analytics application designs, and cloud management and monitoring. It also involves overseeing application architecture requirements and deployment or migration to cloud environments.

As a Solution Architect you will be reporting directly to the enterprise architects and work in close collaboration with Business and delivery managers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Leverage on Cloud environment and service-oriented architecture principles to define and own Solution Architecture (mainly business intelligence/analytic applications)
• Work with functional teams to design a full-stack solution using software that fully integrates with IQVIA customer’s cloud needs, from data flow, data consumption, security, DevOps, and other standpoints
• Responsible for the evaluation of technical risks and map out mitigation strategies
• Carry out debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and unit testing of cloud solutions built on the IQVIA platforms
• Propose suggestions and best practices to optimize cloud presence, performance, security, and cost
• Develop new specs, documentation; and partake in the development of technical procedures and user support guides
• Create a learning strategy to allow IQVIA technical teams to acquire, adopt and develop cloud technologies
• Provide prompt response to technical issues in a professional manner
• Responsible for spotting cloud architecture solutions to effectively meet the strategic needs of IQVIA.
  

Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

• We’re looking for individuals with Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or in a relevant field. In terms of work experience 3-5 years of work experience designing, executing, and supporting CLOUD solutions would be ideal.
• Knowledge of the best Azure Data Injection, Data Transformation and Database Services best practices is a must
• Practical knowledge of Agile Software development methodology.
• Very proficient in the conversion and analysis of complex functional and non-functional requirements and able to make complex technical information understandable
• Flexible, proactive, organized and quality conscious.
• Results oriented.
• Team oriented able to harness the full potential of the knowledge of your peers to ensure the application of the most effective solutions.
• Certifications in cloud solutions are considered a plus

• Design of architecture for Azure Data Solutions:
• Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS)
• Azure Synapse

• Batch processing and streaming processing
• Some experience with Azure Infrastructure as code (IaC)
• HashiCorp Terraform (as a plus …)
• The following certifications are a plus:
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
