Function

Description:


Our unit offers products, systems and solution for different signaling projects in Belgium. In this context the business unit MMF has won a frame contract for the replacements of the old Relays-based interlocking by new electronic interlocking systems and the implementation of ETCS L2, a highly safe and performing European safety system. Next to the Interlocking and the implementation of ETCS L2, also trackside equipment (signals, track vacancy detection), high automated data preparation tools, test tools, global Maintenance System (GMS) are part of this 12-year frame contract. The project consists of development phase followed by a roll out phase.


Job Description


The service will entail the following:

  • Fiber Optic design:
    • Check the fiber network (connections, Splicings: use of diagnostic tooling)
    • Patching of fiber connections
  • IT-Network:
    • Test different network components within the different network topologies in the Lab
    • Connecting, configuring, testing, commissioning and maintaining of the network components on site (Computer room, Shelter, field cabinets,…)
  • System administration
    • Installing, configuring, testing, commissioning and maintaining diagnostics software on Windows, Linux, ESXi platforms
    • Installation of Dataprep on specific IL and ETCS components
  • Writing documentation
    • Writing and updating official test- and verification documentation
    • Writing and updating our own system documentation
  • Guard duty (Maintain up and running systems): start of guard duty to be defined in common agreement, as soon as the Site ICT engineer has gained sufficient knowledge
  • Occasional ICT support in the Lab in Huizingen


Profile

  • Accuracy, rigor and safety minded (a safety related error can lead to an accident)
  • Work autonomously as well as in team
  • Can work and think outside the boundaries of the given tasks – understands the complete context and sees possible other actions / weaknesses besides those defined in the tasks.
  • Expected language skills :
    • Dutch (min C1 - Effective operational proficiency or advanced)
    • French (min C1 - Effective operational proficiency or advanced)
    • English (min B2 - Vantage or upper intermediate)
    • German : optional
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Continuous improving
  • Flexibility day/night/week-end and flexibility in mobility
  • Experienced with use of ICT-tools and applications for testing & commissioning
