ESG has therefore emerged as a key topic, with stakeholders seeking greater standards to promote accountability and incorporate sustainability factors into credit ratings, covenants and legislation pertaining to corporate governance and communication.

Stakeholders’ expectations and regulatory initiatives are pushing companies to provide more transparency and better explain how they serve the broader public interest in society, and they are willing to safeguard shareholders’ value by considering all risks and opportunities, including those relating to ESG.

The financial and economic implications of climate and ESG matters are manifesting in a measurable way. That’s why many investors care. That’s why an increasing number of regulators care. And that’s why there’s such a push to rapidly mature the progress made over the past years into investor-grade information that’s timely, comparable, consistent and reliable.

As a Consultant within our ESG Assurance team, you will play a key role in delivering our ESG services to you clients. Concretely, you will be involved in our sustainability reporting advisory, assurance and ESG due diligence services. You will work closely with senior team members to assess and improve the reporting on the sustainability information of client organisations, providing valuable insights and recommendations. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary, international team, where you will work across a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll attend training programmes to develop your technical and leadership skills and have a personal coach who will help bring out the best in you.

You Will Support Our Clients By

• Joining our team and participating in the planning and execution of ESG assurance engagements;
• Conducting research and analysis on ESG-related regulations, standards, and best practices;
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and ESG Sustainability Experts to gather and analyse ESG data;
• Preparing reports and presentations on ESG performance and impact for clients;
• Advising on, preparing and reviewing sustainability reports;
• Supporting the teams in business development activities;
• Following-up of evolving regulatory requirements and expectations in the field of ESG (CSRD, Taxonomy…);
• Performing ESG Due Diligences.
  
  

Let’s Talk About You

Are you passionate about sustainability and looking for new challenges to further develop and share your expertise in these fields? Are you ambitious, a team player and forward-thinking? Deloitte can match your ambitions!

• You have 1 to 2 years of professional experience
• You have a strong academic background and hold a Master degree in a relevant field such as sustainability, environmental science, business, accounting, finance;
• You have a strong interest in and basic knowledge of sustainability trends, ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards (e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ESRS, GRI, SASB, TCFD);
• You have effective verbal and written communication skills and you are fluent in English and Dutch;
• You are assertive enough to speak up and ask questions at new and existing clients;
• As a team player, you have the ability to work well in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience and interest with Data Analytics tools are a plus.
