About the job

As a Tech Lead at We Invest you will have a couple of different responsibilities inside of your team and with the rest of the teams.

Inside of your team you will be responsible for:

• Making technical decisions on how to implement the solution
• Challenging the estimation done by the other Software Engineers
• Defining the complexity of the upcoming features

With the rest of the teams you will help make technical decisions on the overall architecture of our application and database.

We also expect you to work hands-on with the rest of the team on the implementation of new features / projects, like:

• Building integrations with third-party API’s
• As a real estate business we have a lot of different suppliers to help us deliver our services and products to our franchises that’s why we want to build a digital process to make this as optimal as possible.
• Building dashboards for our franchises so that they have a complete view on their metrics.

The rest of your time will be spend working on some of our existing features, for example:

• A feature that makes it possible for our franchises to have an end-to-end view on their transactions.
• Our onboarding process for franchisee members, helps us make onboarding a franchisee member a lot faster and more efficiently.
• One of the main components of We Invest is our Marketing Agency, that’s why we have build features to make this more accessible and usable for our franchises.
• An e-shop that we built so that our customers can easily order their commercial supports.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. We plan on building a lot of other features in the coming months. Since we’re still in the early stages of our platform you will be contributing a lot to the core design of the architecture that will have to evolve a lot as we scale through Europe.

About you

We’re looking for a skilled Software Engineer:

• With 5+ years of experience
• That loves building JavaScript applications.
• With experience building complex and scalable software & data architectures
• With experience in building such an application
• That has an awesome technical knowledge

Having these skills is only one part of the person we want you to be. What’s even more import is that you have a solution oriented mindsetwho loves to learn new things - we don’t expect you to be an expert in everything because neither are we.

Having the right mindset is more important than having the perfect resume. The person we are looking for is someone who wants to join our adventure to "Rethink real estate" and build our company to the next level. This means we are looking for someone for the long run that shares the same values (Human, Transparency, Customer-centric, Performance) as us.

As a Tech Lead we do not expect you to make all of the technical decisions on your own. We want you to collaborate with the rest of your team, but you also need to be able to make the final decision when needed.

Some of the technologies you will be working with are:

• For sake of simplicity we decided to start with a complete JavaScript codebases for the front and back-end of our applications and more specifically React and Node.js with the NestJS framework.
• We also decided to use TypeScript instead of pure JavaScriptto help reduce some of the common problems that occur with JavaScript.
• For exposing our Back-end application we decided to build our API with GraphQL.
• Our current database is a PostgreSQL database that is hosted on AWS RDS.
• To facilitate deployment and development we decided to containerize our applications using Docker and also decided to use K8s to orchestrate these containers.
