EHS Audit Manager
Job Purpose
- Carry out an independent EHS oversight across the Belgium organization by leading, coordinating transversal internal/ corporate audits in order to assess sustainability and compliance of the organization with EHS expectations.
- Identify and communicate to the management any issues that impact safety of our employees and/or EHS risks.
- Ensure effective and sustainable management of EHS issues/ gaps through harmonized remedial actions and improvement plans.
- Ensure readiness of the business for EHS audits through regular EHS gap assessments reviews.
- Be the partner of EHS LT member to navigate the strategy related to audits L2, L3, L4, providing output reviews to address gaps and proposals (audit universe, EHS gap assessments)
- Organize and lead transversal EHS audits within the Belgium organization to assess compliance with EHS standards /legal requirements and identify issues, best practices to be shared throughout the Belgium organization
- Preparation of clear, concise audit reports which appraise relevant stakeholders of identified risks, enabling appropriate corrective action plans to be implemented
- Communicate outcomes of the audits related to significant EHS compliance issues to internal stakeholders through appropriate escalation processes. Verify robustness and sustainability of the remediation activities
- Ensure a verification of the Effectiveness of CAPA’s (from audits and inspections) with a reporting to the site and the management on the associated risks and potential mitigation
- Work directly with the corporate partners for the L3, L4 audits to agree on audits scope and ensure consolidation of required information and documentation.
- Develop, through coaching, the expertise and auditing skills of the auditors in the EHS organization and beyond.
- Ensure performance and Continuous improvement of Self-inspection, Internal audits and inspection Management processes as SME for EHS audit process. Be accountable to present Self-inspection, Internal audits and EHS audits Management processes during audits & inspections
- Managing the interface with auditees and stakeholders, including a variety of senior leaders across sites
- Be involved in the EHS Strategy and Governance (management and coordination of KPIs) for all Belgium sites
Qualifications & Skills
- Min. 8 years of experience within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry covering various areas: EHS, Audit, Quality, Production.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS aspects
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in influencing improvement activity to ensure implementation of appropriate CAPAs
- Fluency in French and English in order to communicate efficiently with Corporate auditors.
- Familiar with Lean/Six Sigma tools Qualified
- Certified auditor is a plus – demonstrated lead auditor skills
- Communications skills to ensure issues, risks and opportunities are well understood and that effective actions are put in place
- Strong process improvement experience
- Strong project management skills
- Green Belt certification is an asset
