Role Overview
The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance technician will be responsible to ensure reliable and continuous plant operations, maintenance services including repairs, calibrations, installation and modification for the compounding unit equipment and installations. (Including: production, lab, administration).
All in accordance with The Solvay Way, Quality Policy Kallo, Life Saving Rules, SCMS, IATF16949 quality system, ISO14001 environmental system, ISO50001 Energy Management and ISO450001 in the most efficient way.
Key Responsibilities and tasks
1/ Safety/Regulatory affairs/Legislation/Regulations: Control of HSE risks

• Understands and complies with safety & environmental policies, procedures, standards, rules and regulations:
• IATF 16949 - ISO14001 - ISO 50001 - ISO 45001
• Solvay Way - Quality Policy SpP Kallo - Life Saving Rules SCMS
• Stop work authority during an unsafe work situation or quality non-conformity and to report immediately to the supervisor
• Assists with all legal technical inspections.
• To ensure reliable and continuous plant operations
• To ensure maintenance services including repairs, calibrations, installation and modification for the compounding unit equipment and installations. (Including: production, lab, administration)
• To ensure all work is done with perfect respect of all plant safety regulations and prescriptions pertaining to environment protection
• To execute / improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs. To execute all (PM) work orders.
• To provide tools, materials and devices & solutions for mechanical and electrical maintenance activities.
• To recommend improvements in maintenance equipment and methods within area of responsibility.
• To coordinate small projects /assist in large projects (in an autonomous way).
  

2/ Operates according to maintenance strategy : Control of risks related to the product

• To ensure reliable and continuous plant operations
• To ensure maintenance services including repairs, calibrations, installation and modification for the compounding unit equipment and installations. (Including: production, lab, administration)
• To ensure all work is done with perfect respect of all plant safety regulations and prescriptions pertaining to environment protection
• Recommends improvements in maintenance equipment and methods within area of responsibility.
• Acts as a go-to for local IT issues and coordinator for SBS and contractors IT projects.(2)
• Ensures accurate execution of work orders from supervisor in production area, offices and laboratory.
• Extracts information from vendors and communicate with vendors. (tech data/offers)
• Performs maintenance in the plant.
• Execute all periodic checklists.
• Is member of the off-hours stand-by team.
• Performs mechanical, electrical and PLC-program troubleshooting.
• Updates technical/electrical notes,maps,plans /Designs & creates technical/electrical notes,maps,plans, P&Id’s with CAD, Visio, GDraw, and executes modifications to production equipment.
• Initiates all actions required for fulfillment of special assignments, troubleshooting of operational equipment problems.
• Performs inspections on malfunctions of operational equipment such as pumps, compressors and valves, and timely initiates corrective measures.
• Has an overview of maintenance activities of the Site and provides advises to management to optimize maintenance activities in a pro-actively manner.
  

3/ Operates according to inventory strategy

• To assist in the accurate supply of tools, materials and devices for all plant activities.
• To recommend improvements in the spare parts inventory.
  

4/ Operates according to quality strategy

• Impact of the job on the quality of the product and HSE aspects:
• Ensures that maintenance is performed in the safest possible and most cost effective way and perfectly in line with governmental regulations and internal company regulations.
• Creates/updates work instructions / flow charts.
• Assists in training colleagues / creation of manuals.
• Ensures that & executes periodic calibration/ verification of equipment within expected accuracy and time frame.
  

5/ Performs through housekeeping of the plant

• To ensure a safe and clean work environment in line with the 5S program
• To ensure highly reliable equipment
• To give an excellent impression to external auditors and customers
  

Education and skills

• Technical Secondary Degree or equivalent by experience
• Minimal 5-10 years maintenance experience
• Dutch is working language. Good knowledge of English desired.
  

This position is located at our plant, in Kallo, Belgium.
