Job Purpose and Impact

The EMEA Corporate Responsibility and Community Engagement Manager will lead the development and management of corporate responsibility programs and projects aligned with corporate responsibility, sustainability and business priorities. In this role, you will work with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive progress against social and environmental impact priorities and support the operation and supply chain communities to advance the company’s purpose to be a global leader in nourishing the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way. You will advise and give guidance to businesses in the region to design community engagement strategies and invest in activities that address specific business and site location issues and build Cargill’s reputation.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and manage corporate responsibility and sustainability partnerships, programs or campaigns to enhance social impact and license to operate
  • Build the company’s reputation by cultivating relationships with the appropriate stakeholders, including local and global nongovernmental organizations, international development organizations, customers and partners.
  • Partner collaboratively with businesses and functions to guide and identify corporate responsibility priorities to support their business strategy including the right level of community investments
  • Leads, advises and develops the network of Cargill Cares Councils in EMEA with aim to drive closer alignment with business strategy and customer collaboration, aligned with future reporting requirements and establishing best practices
  • Coordinate the employee engagement programs with the different businesses in corporate responsibility programs and events
  • Drive the implementation of corporate responsibility policies, tools and processes to develop favorable relationships within local communities.
  • Execute programs and partnerships in accordance with the corporate contribution policy and external regulations and procedures
  • Represent the company at external functions.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • In depth knowledge and experience in corporate responsibility, sustainability, corporate philanthropy, foundation, nonprofit or government work
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
    • Proven experience in interacting and influencing at all levels of the company and with external stakeholders
    • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
    • Business acumen and experience in food and agriculture
    • Experience working in a large matrixed organization
    • Makes sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
