He/She works in a complex matrix organization, influencing and driving initiatives within EMIA

Job purpose

The EMIA Logistics Projects & Network Manager constantly looks at the network and overall logistics operations, driving constant improvements to the way we serve our Customers, reducing cost while keeping the service in line with Sales requirements and the overall company strategy, aligned with different stakeholders within LSCM and other functions.

This role will drive the EMIA logistics network and operations and will work to achieve the defined LSCM targets. He/She will work in close collaboration with the Markets, Central Planning Team and Procurement, making sure our network is optimized to drive continuous cost to serve and service improvements.

Strategic network projects as well as regular assessment of “what if” scenarios are led by the EMIA Logistics Projects & Network Manager, being responsible E2E, from identifying a potential improvement project to delivering the expected outcome.

Main responsibilities:

Network optimization

  • With CIP mindset constantly challenge the Logistics network, looking for opportunities to improve the way we serve the Markets, whether its linked to changing the configuration of the warehouse network or how we operate the warehouses
  • Analyze current Operations across the markets in EMIA and propose changes in distribution, handling, warehouse management process to increase productivity, storage density, eliminate waste flows. Coordinate and assure efficient communication for all pan-SBU logistics topics e.g. racks requirements for the warehouses, etc.
  • Work closely with local logistics team to build the business cases for network changes. Consolidate all data needed to support the proposal: business needs, location of potential warehouses, associated costs, OPEX/CAPEX comparison of different solutions and payback of recommended
  • He/she will manage the process of approval (alignment with local team & management, to function, leaders & exco) and drive the projects from a Central Team perspective
  • Continuous development of the “digital twin” to allow easy simulation of potential changes to the logistics footprint based on different parameters, such as lead-time, cost to serve, Tier1/Tier2 DCs, changes, etc. Utilize the analysis to support decision making related to sourcing, location of DCs, tenders negotiation, etc.
  • Collaborate with Global SCM Logistics Team in Japan to understand latest BS Logistics priorities and best in class practices across the whole BS Group

Data preparation and analysis

  • Owner of the OB & MTP process for logistics, integrating the Demand/Supply balance and running simulations to estimate the footprint evolution and m2 requirements. He/she will propose different scenario and ensure a good communication with the different stakeholders.
  • Regularly run impact simulations of variations to the demand/supply balance, providing a clear picture of the impact to the network and estimated cost associated.
  • Work closely with local controllers to be aligned on the data set related to network and operations in our warehouses
  • Organize, maintain and make all data available in shared folders
  • Prepare analysis and share data with Global SCM Team, based on reporting timeline and/or based on request

Project Management

  • Drive Network and Operations related Central projects within EMIA, from beginning till end. Identify potential opportunities, prepare and get business cases approved, setup a project structure to drive execution. Follow up on the expected benefits
  • Support local projects - have a clear view of local network and operations projects and coordinate Regions to make sure we are not duplicating efforts
  • Support and coordinate tenders related to Logistics; prepare required specifications for Procurement Team, control timelines, scope and cost, update management on progress and potential risk vs. initial plan and budget.

Required capabilities

Experience

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Management, Engineering or a related field
  • 4-5 years in Supply Chain
  • Management of mid/large-size projects with cross-border implementation
  • Matrix management in a multinational environnement

Languages / Others

  • Good knowledge of SAP, MS Office, TMS system.
  • Fluent in English – other languages are an asset
