The integrated supply chain operations in Weert, the Netherlands, is the backbone of the organization and coordinates the sourcing, planning, warehousing and logistics for the entire region.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner for EMEA Integrated Supply Chain. In this role you will be part of the Finance organization, and at the same time having daily cooperation with our EMEA Integrated supply chain team.
The purpose of the role is to ensure excellence in Financial Planning and Forecasting for our Integrated Supply Chain, as well as Inventory Cost management. You will be a Finance Business Partner for EMEA Supply Chain Director.
This function is key as we are serving multiple product business units within our group who leverage on our operational excellence and reporting. You will also be in close contact with other finance departments within the group, mainly our regional headquarters in Brussels and our shared service center in Chennai, India.
We are looking for someone who has experience in finance and accounting, as well as process change improvements.
You will be delivering on the business needs within supply chain and operations finance, and at the same time responsible for proposing improvements and changes in the processes, effectively leveraging the capabilities of external and internal service providers (including 3rd party logistics provider, finance shared services, etc). Of course, you will make sure adequate monitoring and review procedures are in place. In this role you are reporting to the CFO, Carrier Fire & Security products EMEA, with strong dotted line into EMEA Supply Chain Director, both of which are based in our regional headquarters in Diegem, Belgium
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Financial reporting, planning and analysis on the operational KPIs for the following elements of the financial statements of our European Distribution Center in Weert, NL:
- Warehousing / Distribution Expense
- Inbound and Outbound Freight, Customs duties
- Inventory shrinkage, Cycle count adjustments; Scrap
- Inventory – Balance sheet position/Standard cost; Inventory in Transit; Inventory – Changes in reserves (Excess, Obsolete, ACV, Change in standard cost)
- Material and Purchase variances Internal and External (i.e. quantity, price, foreign exchange rate)
- ACV – advanced capitalized variances (following the company policy and accounting assumptions)
- PII – profit in inventory (following the company policy and accounting assumptions)
- Repair and Rework costs
- Mfg Burden – Incurred and Absorbed
- Financial Planning and Reporting cycle includes:
- Mid-month results flash
- Monthly forecasting and actuals reporting
- Quarterly forecasting and actuals reporting
- Plan preparation, following guidance from EMEA/Global Finance and assumptions/input on external trends from Supply Chain
- Prepare Key reporting and analytics to management on supply chain and operational performance / intercompany factory reporting, cost reduction initiatives, footprint optimization, asset management.
- Key member of EMEA Intergrated Supply Chain Leadership team
- Detailed financial analysis of the 3rd party logistics provider recharges, in cooperation with internal contract owner, attending supplier service delivery meetings and review KPIs reporting
- Ensure adequate cash management related to supply chain purchases with the support of reporting produced by shared services (i.e. purchases by currency), in cooperation with the Netherlands Finance controller
- Close cooperation with the Netherlands Finance controller, to ensure a 100% accurate month and quarter close for European Distribution Center in Weert, internal SOX reporting requirements in relation to supply chain are met
- Interface with shared service center accounting team (Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/General Ledger) to ensure accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting delivered;
- Ensuring Intercompany transfer prices are properly reflected in the financial statements, by supervision of finance analyst and in cooperation with internal teams – product management (i.e. internal price list update, recharges/credit notes)
- Finance workstream lead for Supply Chain projects, including and not limited to:
- Freight audit project;
- Warehouse cost footprint;
- Inventory SKU reduction;
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and principles (US GAAP); inventory
- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance/Accounting.
- 5+ years proven work experience in finance / accounting / financial planning & analysis.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, proven ability to work across all levels and functions.
- Detail oriented with attention to quality / accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, concurrently handling multiple projects.
- Self-direction and organization skills critical to achieve month-end reporting deadlines.
- Strong financial analysis techniques, budgeting/forecasting processes.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to drive initiatives to change processes.
- Fluent in English, Dutch will be a plus; another EMEA language is an advantage.
- Experience in Logistics/Warehouse management is a plus
- Strong ERP/BI knowledge (Oracle, SAP, PowerBI), working with databases
- Experience with reporting tools (HFM, TM1), forecasting tools (Anaplan) is a plus
Preferred Location:
- Working from our regional headquarters in Diegem, Belgium, with occasional day trip travel to Weert, the Netherlands or
- Working from our Weert office, the Netherlands, with occasional day trip travel to regional headquarters in Diegem, Belgium
