Why we need you:
The company recruits because it invests in research, mainly in the automotive sector and more precisely in the Electronic Sensor department. It needs you to carry out new projects with them.
Description of the function
What you will do:
You will be based at the Technovation Centre near Brussels (Belgium) where research and development, engineering and intellectual property activities are centralized under one roof with 280 staff members. Specifically, you will join the Electronic Sensors department - a team of approximately 13 researchers and technicians who are passionate about glass solutions related to autonomous driving, head-up display, and automotive electronics.
You will have 2 missions:
- Support the production plants and R&D developments in different machine vision projects. This involves putting together inspection solutions involving mechanics, lighting, cameras, software, image processing.
- Take part in a team and lead the optical aspects (design, simulation) of the integration of an optical sensor behind a windshield.

Profile description
Don’t wait any longer, apply:
- You are an optical engineer.
- You have a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in optical sensors (camera, Lidar, ...) or you have done an academic work on the subject.
- You are fluent in English (essential). Knowledge of French is a plus.
- You understand that a researcher’s job is more than sitting behind a screen or running experiments in the labs. You have a strong affinity with industrial and operational processes and enjoy being on the field.
- You are willing to work in a team, in interaction with other researchers, technicians (bachelors and industrial engineers) and operators.
- You can elaborate, test, and propose new measurement concepts autonomously.
- You have project management, planning and organizational skills.
- You are ready to travel.
