Job Purpose and Impact

The R&D Specialized Nutrition Category Discovery Lead, is responsible for translating the business objectives into a product launch architecture and a technology road map based on their overview of the research and development portfolio and capability to handle, control and balance them. In this role, you will ensure that business objectives are achieved, market and technology opportunities are understood and prioritized and customer and innovation needs are efficiently and effectively met.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain Specialized Nutrition technology roadmaps that enable the category business strategy and appropriately position it versus competitors and versus emerging technologies.
  • Define the portfolio’s business and financial objectives and targets, ensuring effective collaboration with our teams across the company.
  • Handle technology road map and research and development portfolio accordingly, evaluating and prioritizing projects and reallocating resources across projects.
  • Provide business leadership and advisory on how to execute our innovation portfolio choices and product line architectures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the globe to ensure effective and efficient use of the portfolio’s human and financial resources to deliver high quality research work and broader company targets.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in Specialized Nutrition and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in nutrition or biomedical sciences, more than 5 ys experiences in food industry.
  • Versed in nutritional and health scientific research.
  • Demonstrated experiences in clinical substantiation.
  • Experience in collaborating with academic and other knowledge institutions.
  • Proven portfolio management experience, including gate review team/ portfolio review team participation.
  • Experience with leading in a multi-national/cultural/matrices organization environment.
  • Experience in managing and developing high performing teams and leading change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in nutrition, bio-medical or related sciences.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in relevant segments (categories).
