The University of Duisburg-Essen invites applications for a PhD position focused on advancing the understanding of electrocatalytically active regions in multi-metal-based materials. The successful candidate will conduct local electrochemical measurements utilizing scanning electrochemical cell microscopy (SECCM) and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). Responsibilities include performing combined experiments to investigate local catalytic activities, corrosion processes, and detecting products during oxidation reactions.

Requirements

– University degree (above-average) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Physics

– Strong academic record

– Experience in electrocatalysis is an advantage

– Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of German is preferred but not mandatory
