About our Client

Our client is an innovative tax-free shopping mobile app that makes it easy for travelers to get 20% tax back on their shopping in France, Spain and Belgium and soon in the rest of Europe.

Each year, more than 100 million non-EU residents traveling to the EU purchase billions of euros in reclaimable tax with only a fraction of it being refunded. Why? The current process is fraught with inefficiencies: lots of paper, long queues, high fees and poor customer service. Besides, a vast majority of stores don’t even bother offering tax refunds.

That’s why we developed an entirely new digital process from scratch, allowing travelers to easily claim tax refunds wherever they shop by simply uploading pictures of their purchase invoices on our app.

Since our start in 2017, we’ve grown our Brussels and China team from 3 to 20. We are sufficiently funded and are now ready to accelerate our growth.

Our client’s company is at the crossroads of the fintech, retail and tourism industry. Besides offering cheap and effortless tax refunds, we have many more ideas in store to become a digital platform connecting local retailers with global travelers.

About the role

We are looking for a Business Analyst in Brussels to help our product and engineering teams deliver a customer experience that delights our users and scales globally with our growth.

The role is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company. With 50.000 users we are already refunding hundreds of thousands of euros monthly to travelers coming to Europe from all continents.

Working from our Brussels office, you will play a key role in the introduction and optimization of new and/or existing customer-facing as well as internal products and software tools. You are passionate about creating and maintaining efficient and accurate applications. You have a process mindset and analytical skills with competencies in improving, creating, and implementing workflows and processes.

What you will need to do

-

Play a leading and coordinating role in the full software development lifecycle, from analysis to development and testing until go-live and aftercare.

-

Facilitate the gathering and documentation of business requirements together with business process owners (project managers) and other subject matter experts (marketing).

Develop business cases for process and technical developments and changes.

-

Translate business requirements into detailed functional designs and work closely together with the engineering team.

-

Write clear and well-structured system specifications for new functionalities or change requests.

-

Validate solution design proposals with product management and engineering teams to ensure that they are in line with our reference architecture as well as security guidelines.

-

If needed, work with external software vendors/developers to deliver these efficiently and effectively, with high quality.

-

Prepare and deliver training sessions to subject matter experts for new applications or releases.

Requirements

What you need to know

-

Minimum 3+ years of experience preferably with combined exposure to consulting and/or similar role in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.

-

Business process knowledge and experience with software applications, preferably in a B2C fast growing context.

-

Project management skills: demonstrated ability to multi-task, to prioritize and to push projects over the finish line with sound planning and persistent execution; understanding on how to align resources, seek the input of key constituents, and manage others to achieve desired results.

-

Strong analytical and business backgrounds as well as an understanding of product development dynamics.

-

Strong written and verbal communicator with excellent presentation and writing skills.

-

Experience working cross-functionally with multiple departments in consumer tech.

-

Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.
