Founded in 1951 in the Center of France Walden is an independent Family Group driven with passion to become today the European leader in Healthcare Transport & Logistics. Our services include Logistics through Movianto and CSP, Transport through Eurotranspharma, TransPharma International and Ciblex, as well as Digital & Innovation services through Pharma Pilot.

In particular, Eurotranspharma (ETP) is a subsidiary of the Walden Group, based in Belgium, The Netherland, France, Czech Republic and Spain (Q4 2022).

It is responsible for the GDP Last Mile distribution under controlled temperature for the healthcare industry.

Eurotranspharma transports parcels and pallets on a daily basis from pharmaceutical companies or 3/4PL depots to 3000 hospitals, 600 wholesalers depots and 30000 pharmacies. Our 1200 trained and skilled drivers, docks managers, planners, Control tower & Quality employees, managers and directors operates in observance of Good Distribution Practices. Our fleet own approximatively 1200 vehicles comprising of VAN, Trucks and Trailers with active controlled bi-temperatures.

Location: Aalst or Zaventem (BE), orOss (NL), with flexibility to travel across Europe (regular travels within Benelux, and to France, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Spain)

Purpose of the role

The role is responsible for providing leadership and managing the resources, budget and operations of sales and marketing of the business unit in the most efficient manner possible.

They provide strategic and tactical direction to the day-to-day operations in order to achieve business objectives while working to develop the gross margin and driving continuous improvements to maximize operational efficiency.

They develop operational and commercial goals and objectives in line with the CCO group’s commercial and marketing strategies.

They develop related programs, policies, and procedures to ensure that ETP is efficient and coherent in front of clients.

Key responsibilities / Results

  • In collaboration with the CEO, and local sales teams, they define the sales & marketing strategy of the business unit.
  • They develop and maintain close relations with Client’s directors of strategic accounts
  • They supervise and coordinate the multi-countries tenders
  • Elaborating and animating the BU sales activities (sales incentives, trainings, trade fair participation)
  • With the Walden Marketing department, they elaborate the external and internal communication plan; capable to edit content of external communication channels (web site, LinkedIn...)
  • They work in synchronization with the Walden’s CCO and Marketing department
  • They elaborate a commercial offer adapted to customers’ expectations, taking into account market constraints and respecting the economic balance essential to the development of the business unit.
  • Elaborating a commercial policy adapted to large multi-country accounts (prices and centralized coordinated approach)
  • Implementing and follow the application of a commercial policy adapted to each country based on a service offer and a pricing policy that respects the economic and financial constraints.
  • They prepare multi-annual sales budgets, and ensure compliance with them.
  • Establishing annual key performance indicators and customer satisfaction measures.
  • Implementing annual action plans to achieve the strategic objectives of the Walden Group.
  • Supporting and being involved in European growth opportunities such as acquisitions and/or expansion into new countries in collaboration with M&A Department.
  • They provide “leadership by example” and ensure that practices for hiring, supervising, coaching, developing and terminating teammates are consistent.
  • They support the development of and compliance with all Walden Group policies, guidelines, procedures, processes, and codes of business ethics, ensuring that they are communicated, implemented and adhered to, within their area of responsibility.
  • Qualifications

    • Master of Business Administration.
    • Languages: English or Dutch native, French fluent (spoken)

    Required Experience

    • Min. 10 years’ experience in a management position
    • Extensive experience in transport of goods, within an international environment
    • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices in the pharmaceutical sector is an asset.
    • Experience of supporting multiple branches with competing priorities.
    • Knowledge and expertise in business requirements analysis
    • General knowledge of transport legislation

    • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach and mentor teammates of all levels and the ability to provide constructive feedback.

    • Excellent general technical skills to understand the transport by route business.
    • Proven team-building skills, both within and outside one’s own team, with the ability to motivate and direct the work of others and to create sustainable collaborative behaviour and attitudes within the organisation.
    • Proven ability in negotiation, especially at strategic level
    • Strong customer relations skills, ability to establish an extensive network in the sector to develop and strengthen market share.
    • Robust financial management skills, including previous budget responsibilities
    • Strong goal orientation
    • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral, to deal effectively with internal and external contacts from executive to administrative levels
    • Strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking.
    • Flexibility and responsiveness to change, with the ability to lead others in a changing environment.
    • Understanding of business principles from several disciplines, such as forecasting, supply management, inventory management, order management
    • Rigorous in analysis, and at ease with numbers.
    • The proficient use of Microsoft Pack office is mandatory
